Trump's BBB brings accounability to Food Stamp program with work requirements | Eastern NC Now

Food stamp program had doubled since Obama expanded eligibility

ENCNow

The Food Stamp (SNAP) program has doubled since Obama expanded eligibility. Most of the growth has been among non-working able-bodied adults.  Trump's Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) has many on the left pitching a tantrum because its work requirements bring accountability to the program to discourage slackers who refuse to work.

While work requirements for Food Stamps are not new, the BBB tightens them up, expanding those to whom the rule applies.  Most importantly, it cuts off the gambit of liberal states that had put in local exemptions that had made the work requirement a joke in those states.  Now the work requirement will be imposed as intended.  States that have fully implemented the work requirement have found that it greatly encourages people to find real jobs and not continue as Food Stamp freeloaders and significantly cuts those on welfare handouts.
