US Judge upholds NC Senate district map, rejects Dem claim of racial gerrymander | Eastern NC Now

US Supreme Court is likely to nuke whole issue of racial gerrymandering

ENCNow

Another Democrat attempt to manipulate our elections through the courts fails.  A federal district court judge has rejected their claim of "racial gerrymandering" in two northeastern NC state senate districts and upheld the legislative map drawn by the NC General Assembly.  In a 120 page order, the judge pointed out that the legislature did not even have access to racial data when they drew the maps and that statewide the percentage of black legislators in consistent with the percentage of black voters in the state.

In another case likely to be heard shortly by the US Supreme Court, it is seen as likely that the SCOTUS will call a halt to even bringing cases on "racail gerrymandering".

It sounds like the federal District Judge was very thorough and meticulous in his ruling in setting out facts and reasoning. If appealed, this case would go to the very left leaning Fourth Circuit in Richmond, and if so may need a final trip to the SCOTUS.
