Buddy Harris | Eastern NC Now

    Buddy Harris, age 78, a resident of Washington, died Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his home.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hope Church, with Kyle Miller and Daniel Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends Thursday evening, November 6, 2025, at Hope Church from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and other times at the home.

    Buddy was born on March 11, 1947, in Pitt County to the late Thad Harris and Maggie Rawls Harris. He attended school at Chicod School. On September 17, 1967, he married Lynda Jefferson, they were married 58 years. Buddy was an entrepreneur and in the heavy equipment business. He was founder, owner, and operator of Buddy's Garage. Buddy had previously worked for Hackney for 22 years. He was a member of Hope Church where he served as an honorary lifelong Deacon. Buddy was a founding member of Wharton Station Ruritan Club and a member of the Salvation Army for over 30 years. He loved to work, he loved his family, and he loved his church.

    Survivors include his wife, Lynda Jefferson Harris of the home, daughter, Pamela Harris Clark (Barry) of Chocowinity, sister, Ellen Kelly of Greenville, grandchildren, Matthew Lane Clark (Monica), and Megan Clark Sabillon (Douglas).
