Linda Alligood Sheppard | Eastern NC Now

    Linda Alligood Sheppard, age 77 a resident of Washington, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

    Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington with Rev. Bobby Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Jesse Skinner, Austin Hudson, Brandy Edwards, Samantha Wallace, Jerry Sheppard, and Steve Sheppard will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

    Linda was born on November 12, 1947, in Beaufort County to the late Charlie Ray Alligood and Mamie Jackson Alligood. She attended school at Washington High School. On December 30, 1963, she married Glenn Taylor Sheppard. Linda along with her daughter Debbie opened Linda's Flowers and Gifts in Washington in 2001. She loved spending time with her family. Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Adams.

    Survivors include her husband, Glenn Taylor Sheppard of the home, her children, Debra "Debbie" Sheppard Rouse of Washington and Glenn Sheppard, Jr. (Tracy) of Washington, brothers, Charlie Ray Alligood (Brenda) of Washington and Luther Thomas Alligood (Barbie) of Washington, Sisters, Edna Sheppard (Jerry) of Washington, Shirley Marie Galloway (Bill) of Bath, Dorothy Lewis of Washington and Peggy Cherry of Washington, grandchildren, Brandy Edwards, Samantha Wallace (Chad), Jesse Skinner (Brigette), great grandchildren, Cheyenne Herring, Brailee Mae Skinner, Willow Wallace and Elton Thomas Skinner.
