D-Day veteran says WWII sacrifices not worth it as less freedom today than then | Eastern NC Now

says modern politicians all in it for themselves, not like Churchill

A 100-year old D-Day veteran, appearing in a televised veterans tribute, has told an interviewer that the sacrifices made by his generation in World War II were not worth it because there is less freedom today for citizens than there was in his youth before World War II.  British veteran Alec Penstone, whose service included the arctic supply convoys to Russia as well as D-Day and the war in Europe was appearing on the UK's ITV network.  Penstone also praised Sir Winston Churchill as a real leader, in striking contrast to the modern politicians just in it for themselves. "I can see in my mind's eye row upon row of white stones, hundreds of my friends. . . and for what?" Penstone mused.

A recent poll in the UK found that 48% of British citizens wanted their country "to be the way it used to be" as opposed to 27% who disagreed.

The US has not fallen as far into the globalist authoritarian hellhole as the UK, where censorship under draconian "hate speech" laws suppresses freedom of speech, but we were headed that way under Biden, and the Democrat Party still wants to move that direction.
