ICE immigration enforcement teams arrive in Charlotte, NC - Democrats pitch tantrum | Eastern NC Now
Operation Charlotte's Web
Charlotte, NC, heart of the sanctuary county of Mecklenburg, is the scene of the latest ICE immigration enforcement action, which is codenamed Operation Charlotte's Web. The operation is targeting illegal aliens who have committed criminal offenses in the US for deportation. Thirty cars full of ICE agents arrived in Charlotte Friday and immediately got to work locating and arresting criminal illegal aliens.
Mecklenburg County has been one of NC's handful of "sanctuary counties" where illegal aliens who are convicted of crimes are turned back out on the streets instead of turned over to ICE for deportation as they should be. There are estimated to be 58,000 illegal aliens living in Charlotte.
As expected, leftwing Democrats are pitching a tantrum. Ultra liberal Democrat Governor Josh Stein is leading the effort to protect criminal illegal aliens from deportation, with the sanctuary Democrat sheriff of Mecklenburg also sounding off, as well as a host of other leftwing Democrats who want these criminals to stay in our country. The leftwing NC Democrats, like their radical colleagues in Chicago are encouraging mobs to harass ICE law enforcement.
As usual with Democrats, Stein complained about arrests of "immigrants" but Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino quickly corrected Stein. "Immigrants, rest assured we have your back as we did in Chicago and Los Angeles." Bovino responded. "Governor Stein should learn the difference between an illegal alien and an immigrant. Illegal aliens have NO PLACE in our communities and should self-deport via CBP Home."
ICE teams have also headed to New Orleans.

I saw some footage of anti-ICE protests and there were Mexican flags all through the crowd. If these interlopers want to be in Mexico, lets send them ALL back there.

When will we be getting these ICE teams in eastern NC? We need immigration law enforcement here, too.

Sanctuary counties like Mecklenburg (Charlotte) are the ideal hunting ground to find illegal alien criminals because unlike most the country, local authorities are not turning them over for deportation when they have finished their sentence. These scofflaws would rather keep the illegal alien criminals in their community to continue to prey on local citizens. ICE is standing strong for public safety and the rule of law.

Since Stein is a lawyer and former state Attorney General, one would have thought he would have been familiar with the definitions of "immigrant" and of "illegal alien" in the United States Code (federal statutory law). The term "immigrant" only applies to someone who is properly going through the immigration process beginning with an application to come to America as an immigrant. It does not apply to those who sneak across the border or overstay a tourist or other visa. Our immigration statutes clearly define those who come or stay illegally as "illegal aliens". Read the law, governor, before making a fool of yourself.
