Mr. Eugene David Hall, age 88, a resident of 108 Knight Street, Washington, NC and a former resident of High Point died Wednesday October 30, 2013 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Washington.

    Mr. Eugene David Hall, age 88, a resident of 108 Knight Street, Washington, NC and a former resident of High Point died Wednesday October 30, 2013 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Washington.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Washington officiated by Dr. Greg Barmer. Burial will take place 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 3, 2013 at Oakwood Memorial Park in High Point officiated by Dr. James Summey.

    The family will receive friends 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday November 1, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his daughter Jeannie Yount located at 205 Haven Way S., Washington.

    Mr. Hall was born in Caldwell County on January 13, 1925 son of the late William David Hall and the late Gertrude Benfield Hall. He was a graduate of Granite Falls High School. On June 13, 1984 he married the former Iris Seward Loflin who preceded him in death. Mr. Hall was a retired supervisor with Adams-Millis Co. in High Point. He was a dedicated member of English Road Baptist Church in High Point before moving his membership to First Baptist Church of Washington where he continued to be very active in many activities of his church. Mr. Hall delivered meals for the Washington Senior Citizen Center as long as his health permitted.

    Survivors include a son: Don B. Hall and wife Judy of Wilmington; a daughter: Jeannie H. Yount and husband Michael of Washington; a sister: Wilma Huffman of Hickory; a granddaughter: Amy Yount Adams and husband Tony of Washington and two great grandchildren: Macon and Hazel Adams and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hall was predeceased by a brother: Wade Hall and a sister: Ruth Hall Teague.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to First Baptist Church, Widows Mite Fund, 113 Harvey Street, Washington, NC 27889.
