Liberal Beaufort County commission majority votes to keep "Limited Voting" election method | Eastern NC Now

stabbing citizens in the back

ENCNow

The oppressive and undemocratic process of "limited voting" has plagued our county commission elections for years after a then all-Democrat county commission made a rotten deal to "settle" a voting rights lawsuit they probably would have won.  Now a new US Supreme Court decision that struck down racial gerrymandering gives out county the opportunity to free ourselves of this travesty.

Unfortunately, our liberal county commission majority wants to keep this monstrosity.

Conservative Commissioner Stan Deatherage put the issue on the county commission agenda, asking to bring in a specialist attorney to address changing the system, now that the Supreme Court has given us that opportunity.  Unfortunately, his proposal was voted doan 3 votes for and 4 against.  Those voting to work to change the system were Deatherage, Hood Richardson, and Tandy Dunn.  Those voting not to seek and change but to keep the same rotten system were liberal Democrats Ed Booth and Jerry Langley and liberal "Republcians" Randy Walker and Frankie Waters.  Both Walker and Waters are switchover Democrats.

The Republican executive committee and Republican convention in our county have repeatedly passed resolutions against "limited voting" but Walker and Waters prefer to vote like Democrats on the issue.

We need to end limited voting. Frankie Waters and Randy Walker are nothing but Democrat plants on our county commission. They are Republican on the outside but Democrat on the inside.

"Limited voting" has taken away our precious democratic right to vote. As long as our county is oppressed with limited voting, we have only limited democracy. The four Stalinists on our county commission who want to keep this garbage need to be thrown out of office. They may think it works to their personal political advantage, but it is screwing the citizens. Throw the bums OUT!

From what I saw from Randy Walker and his wife Carolyn Walker at the Chocowinity / Gilead polling place on the last election day, this just not surprise me at all.

Voters in Beaufort County want to junk limited voting as quickly as possible. Why do some sleazy politicians just not get it?

For Randy Walker and Frankie Waters, they are both really still Democrats, and liberal ones at that. You can easily see it in the way they vote on the county commission. This is just the latest example. They are as phony as a three peso bill. Frankie Waters is not running again and will soon be gone, thank God, but we need to give Walker his walking papers in the 2028 primary. He is a FAKE "Republican" and always has been. Whether one calls him a RINO, a Biden Republican, an Undocumented Democrat, or a Benedict Arnold Republican, he is a back stabber and a traitor. He has betrayed the voters of Beaufort County by voting to keep the crooked limited voting scam.
