Christopher Herman “Chris” Rose | Eastern NC Now

    Christopher Herman "Chris" Rose, age 64, a resident of Belhaven, NC died Friday May 29, 2026, at his home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 1, 2026, at Davis Cemetery in the Pungo Community of Pantego officiated by Zach Phillips. Pallbearers will be members of the NC Marine Patrol.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday May 31, 2026, at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.

    Chris was born in Beaufort County on March 23, 1962, son of the late Joseph Heber Rose, Sr. and the late Peggy Joyce Watson Rose. He attended Pungo Christian Academy and worked in the family business R&S 66 Station in Belhaven. At the time of his death, he was a co/owner co/operator along with his brother. His occupation proved that he loved working on cars. He was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ who enjoyed mowing and watching the television show The Deadliest Catch. Chris spent many hours fishing tournaments with his friend Buck Radcliffe and hunting with his friend Jody Howery.

    Survivors include his children: Candace Rose of Washington, Cameron Rose Elliott of Belhaven, Ashley Rose Chase of Bath, and Jon "Christopher" Rose and his wife Angel of Pantego; a brother: Joseph Heber Rose Jr. of Belhaven; sisters: Sally R. Respess and her husband Keith of Bath, Deborah R. Sawyer and her husband Ronald of Kingsland, GA; and his grandchildren Taylor Chase, Haley Elliott, Brent Elliott, Marshall Chase, Cody Rose, Sadie Braddy, Destiny Rose, Cora Bell, and Levi Rose. Chris was predeceased, along with his parents, by a sister: Terry Vander Aa.
