Democrats nominate increasingly radical candidates for Congress in safe Dem seats | Eastern NC Now

The drift in the Democrat Party to the far left is being reflected in some of the exreme radicals they are nominating in primaries for safe Democrat congressional seats.  This week's primaries highlight two of those.  Included is Nancy Pelosi's district where they have nominated someone so radical that he actually makes Polosi look sane.

In New Jersey's 12th congressional district, a safe seat where a Democrat is retiring they have nominated Afam Hamawy.  Hamawy was a defense witness in the criminal trial of the infamous "Blind Sheik" Muslim terrorist on charges of plotting terrorist attacks in the United States.  He refuses to disavow his association with the Blind Sheik.  Hamawy also acknowledges going to Bosnia to work with the Benevolence International Foundation, a Muslim group listed by both the US and the UN as associated with terrorist organizations.

In California, with its jungle primary, there is not technically a nominee, but with almost half the vote, radical legislator Scott Weiner is considered to now be the congressman-in-waiting.  As a state legislator, Weiner sponsored and got passed a bill to protect those who knowingly spread AIDS from being prosecuted as well as the Pedophile Protection Act.
