Wikipedia's hard left turn on bias draws fire - it has become a highly unreliable source of info | Eastern NC Now

When Wikipedia was founded, it was established with safeguards to maintain objectivity and prevent bias.  Removal of those safeguards over the years has turned Wikipedia into something entirely different.  Leadership of the organization ended up in the hands of leftwing ideologues who have sought to use the organization to promote their own agenda.

The process moved slowly enough that it was not visible to most.  One who has been calling them out on it for years, however, was Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger, who could see in detail what they were doing to destroy balance and objectivity.  Several years ago, Sanger called out Wikipedia as "badly biased to the left".  As he has continued to push for a restoration of neutrality, Sanger has recently been banned for life from Wikipedia by the current leadership.  He tells the story here:
