Now it is South Africa ramping up mass deportation of illegal aliens | Eastern NC Now

follows Latin American countries like Chile and Dominican Republic

Mass migration of illegal aliens is a problem in a lot of countries.  President Trump is tackling the issue here in the United States by deporting illegals..  Latin American countries like Chile and the Dominican Republic are ramping up mass deportation of illegal aliens from their countries.,  The latter is already regularly deporting thousands of Haitians.

In France, a recent poll found that 83% of citizens support large scale deportation of foreigners.  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/06/28/more-than-8-in-10-french-voters-back-negative-immigration-support-widespread-deportations/

The latest country to announce a mass deportation program of illegal aliens living there is the left-leaning government of South Africa.  Its president has announced a program to round up and deport millions of illegal aliens from other African countries back to where they came from.  Taking a cue from ICE here in the US, the program is hiring 10,000 agents to comb workplaces and residential areas to locate, apprehend, and remove illegal aliens.

Part of the urgency in South Africa is that citizens are pushing hard to get rid of the illegals, and there is an increasing liklihood that vigilantes would move against the illegals if the government did not.  Citizens are getting fed up with the situation.

Of course, this is not the only black African country to take a hard line on illegal immigration.  Neighboring Botswana, a relatively well run country, was having problems with illegal aliens coming in from poorer neighbors, much like South Africa's problem.  Years ago, the Botswana government built a tall fence on their most problematic border and electrified it for a lethal level of electric current.  Just the fact that they could turn on the current at any time has made it effective and they have not yet actually had to do so.

In Europe, parties calling for mass deportation of illegal aliens are leading in the polls in the UK, France, Germany, and Austria.   In the Pacific, that is now the case in Australia as well.

All countries have some legal process to immigrate legally, where applicants are properly vetted. When someone chooses to defy those laws and just sneak in, they deserve to be arrested and deported. That is true in any country. It is called the Rule of Law Every country's immigration laws need to be respected and strictly enforced.
