Peru becomes latest Latin American country to swing to the right as conservative wins presidency | Eastern NC Now

Peru has become the latest in a parade of Latin American countries abandoning left wing leadership and swinging to the right in elections.  Keiko Fujimori, daughter of a former conservative president, who acted as First Lady during part of his tenure, has been declared the winner of Peru's presidential election with all votes counted.  This comes just weeks after a similar result in Columbia where a conservative nicknamed "El Tigre (The Tiger)" defeated the previously ruling socialists.
