15 New York sheriffs sue Gov. Hochul over new state illegal alien sanctuary law | Eastern NC Now

New York has followed the trend of many leftwing Democrat-run states of trying to protect illegal aliens who have committed crimes in our country from being deported.  They want to keep the illegal alien criminals here so they can commit more crimes against Americans.  Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a new law that prohibits county sheriffs from cooperating with immigration law enforcement, ICE, in the process of deportation of illegal aliens who commit crimes.

Now, many of New York's elected sheriffs are fighting back.  Fifteen of them have filed a lawsuit in federal court against the pro-crime governor to defend their right to continue protecting their citizens from crime by helping ICE find and deport illegal aliens who have committed crimes.  They point out that they have a duty under federal immigration law to do that and it helps make their communities safe from crime.

This is the second such case recently filed against such sanctuary state laws.  Twelve Maryland sheriffs are also suing their leftwing Democrat governor in federal court over their state's law giving sanctuary to illegal alien criminals.
