Susan Elizabeth Boyd | Eastern NC Now

    Susan Elizabeth Boyd, age 85, a resident of Washington, died Monday, September 14, 2026, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Everetts Church of Christ with Bobby Wallace officiating. A private inurnment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends half an hour prior to the memorial service at the church.

    Susan was born on December 24, 1940, in Beaufort County to the late Dennis Woodrow Boyd and Hattie Elizabeth Lilley Boyd. She was a 1958 graduate of Bath High School. Susan retired in 1995 from Beaufort County Schools as a custodian, having worked in Pinetown and Bath. She gave loving care to her mother and many others. Susan loved making ceramic dolls and collecting them and she loved Mountain Dew. She attended Athens Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Boyd, Mark Boyd, and Woodrow Boyd.

    Survivors include her sister, Sybil Boyd Wallace (Bobby) of Pinetown, nieces and nephews, Tracey Pellin of Charlotte, NC, Corinna Wallace Olver of Marietta, GA, Bobby Wallace, Jr. of Knightdale, NC, Benjamin Boyd of Fletcher, NC, Robert Swink of King, NC, Scott Swink of Greensboro, NC and Erin Dzielecki of Wake Forest, NC, numerous great nieces and nephews.
