I have now wondered: What would John Wayne say about the whole Covington High School debacle? Your post here may be close to his reaction.

After serving 18 plus years as a county commissioner, I have served with 10 separate boards, and even in my initial career of public service here in Beaufort County (as the first Republican ever re-elected to the county commission in our county's history), serving with a full Democrat board, save myself, I have never served with a more liberal board of commissioners than this current board.

Considering the fact that these nominal Republicans cut deals with Liberals to maintain their chairmanships (without the support of we two Conservatives they have to), this board with a Republican majority have steadily edged to a far more Liberal posture costing Beaufort County taxpayers their treasury and common sense governing because of expansive wasteful spending.

Something has to change - that is why I sought to be elected back to the commission - commissioners who have claimed the Republican mantel must learn to govern appropriately or step aside.

So, this is what got their collective panties in a bunch - the women and the pseudo men of the Fake New.

A completely wimpish response to a serious issue, completely mishandled by a once proud, but now pathetic university located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Great piece on nostalgia - that warm sense that something something now is missing, and you were there when it was not.

Unless he went totally ballistic because Larry was just too much.

Check out the one of the funeral o his Marty's mother, where Larry throws a "soiled" 50 dollars on the floor and creates a Hebrew panic.

This is an extra obscure memorial, and, simultaneously, extra relevant.

Just last night my wife notified that Marty Funkhouser had passed on from this plane of existence. Bob will be missed.

Maybe North Carolina's Liberal governor should urge his fellow partisan Socialists to end the "Government Shutdown".

Thanks for the credit, because much of what I want to accomplish here is "show and tell" something different to different folks, and do it on a platform with the technical ability to go in all manner of directions at once.

That is why I appreciate all of your varied posts ... and Ted's and Kathy's and Alex's, and all the non northern Georgia folks as well.

Just like I turned you on the Dire Straights, you are turning on others to so much else, and that is pretty cool.

Yoni is the man. I bet he is an Israeli Jew. Impressive Dude.

The Dire Straits video was very raw, probably done when the band had very little experience together and before they got their outstanding keyboardist - Alan Clark.

You know that Knopfler played with Dylan when Bob was going through his Christian phase in mid to late 1980s. The relationship wqs strained a bit, but, they are still collaborating.

Mark Knopfler has one of the widest ranges of musical creation in the history of classical melodies.

Here is an easy mark Knopfler song that I can even do, and it is still one of my favorites: beaufortcountynow.com

Of course I do the stripped down version. I am captured by the words being an ex-surveyor and since I know a good bit about history. It is a cool little story and melody.

I think it remarkable that you would even try. Bobby Tony, I don't know if you are trying to impress me or that you are just showing off, but, you certainly keep my attention.

I'm working on "Romeo and Juliet" in my own ham handed way, so, I you have impressed me taking on "Sultans of Swing"; a far more difficult song to master.
to take my grand kids to see the new "Mary Poppins", but tonight, I will go through your post and consider your challenge.

I'm still impressed with your consideration of what should become great consternation. But, Man my must dream of new frontiers ... always.

It is only a matter of time before the Snowflake revolution got busted. It is interesting that Dennis Quaid had a small hand in it.

Excellent.

I had one lay a cussing on me on FB about this Wall thing, when I asked her to reconsider the math when she said that the 5 billion to start the Wall would cover everyone's health insurance.

Good stuff Bobby Tony, preserved for perpetuity here on BCN. I especially liked the anonymous rendition of the President with "Cry'n' Chuckie".

I remember that primary, and Reagan was a special candidate and a special President. Ed Rollins makes stellar appearances still on FOX and is still sharp and crisp in his analysis.

Regarding the Left's regards for this President, we can sum it up in three words: "RESIST!!" ... "RUSSIA!!!" ... "RACIST!!!!"

uilding a wall is only part of the solution.

Illegal Immigration costs our nation, at all levels of government, from 15 to 25 billion per year.

This does not include the costs of health care that go unpaid and spread between everyone.

I am a Libertarian / Conservative when graded out by the UNC School of Government.

The federal government does not owe us everything; it owes us stability, sovereignty in perpetuity, safety and defense of our borders.

Bobby Tony, you always see the pragmatic truth in a thing to the point of funny.

Few jobs are as lucrative as Federal jobs. If one could fire 25% of nonmilitary jobs, that would be a good fiscal start.

I heard the gig, and it was spot on.

With all the Liberals and Socialists riding herd of Free Speech right now, you may never her it again.

This short piece may turn out to be the "Amos and Andy" of modern times.

Hilarious. Military /Combat Zone humor is always top nothch.

It is so real. That may be why R. Lee Ermey's character in "Full Metal Jacket" is so memorable.

The best way to remedy this conundrum may be to summarily fire the educators, and then sue them for damages to whatever extent they can afford.

In the real world, outside of Social Justice Warrior Dreamland, this could never happen.
Commented: Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 @ 5:12 pm By: Stan Deatherage
If there is a strike: Immediately fire all those that strike and give the students their tuition money back, and then re-assign them to other classes for free, further making their ability to take lost class a priority for free again.

Then make sure that policy is written that if educators refuse to work, then they are summarily fired for bad conduct.

Really cool poetic reference.

You could build a series of articles on: "Check up and Saddle up boys, if you don't take it with you, you want find it out there!"

Great advice for military and civilian life.

I swear B.T., I have had a terrible cold, which began 34 hours before my first, great return county commissioner meeting, where I hacked, sputtered and wheezed, continuing through the stock market and the Dow yet crashing thousands of more points, and now, your comment was the first belly laugh I have had all week, and I thank-you.

Since Liberals believe that our nation's immigration statutes and policy are written upon the base of the Statue of Liberty in poem form, maybe we should continue that Liberal /Socialist tradition and extend it to other levels of governing by that one poem regarding all Animal Control statutes and policy.

I remember this lady senator sitting in judgement of Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his hearing for Supreme Court justice. She was the one that said Brett Kavanaugh was guilty because a woman, who was alleged she fondled against her will 35 years earlier, accused him of an event that where she could not remember where it happened; she could not remember any credible witnesses, and never told anyone that it happened, and that all men should just "shut up" about it if they struggled with that accusation as credible.

Yes, she is a real smart Democrat Senator.
