Senator Kennedy is a funny guy. Louisiana has a way of producing some interesting politicians.

"More FAKE NEWS on Facebook, but do not be concerned, no one is paying attention anymore." - Great line Bobby Tony. That line really sets the pace for this post.

Thankfully the letter to Turkey was bipartisan is a small way, but, where were the other 33 Democrat, and Republican Senators? Why did they not sign?

Come Hell or High Water, it one can not show 100% support for a Christian evangelist, who is imprisoned for simply being a God's man witnessing the love of Christ, doing the good work of Jesus Christ as did the Apostles: Paul, Peter, John, James, Matthew, and many more: What good are you?

I am surprised that you don't have a split personality X 2.

I think I watched/ listened to George Carlin's 7 Dirty Words too many times. Considering my rearing, I wonder if my parents did not hear Carlin too many times as well. We, Deatherage's, were all moderately desensitized to course language, I reckon.

Great post, great metaphors; but, when did the word shit become profitable as measured in coinage?

Good point: "Everyone Is Entitled To His Own Stupid Opinion".

In the real world of true exchange of ideas, those who melt, when the heat is ratcheted up ever so slightly, should leave the discussion before they do or say something too stupid.

Wow; all that; it takes all that.

Like I said before: I need a manager.

I'm too old for "baby steps". But, I try to stay healthy and keep some modicum of a sense of humor.

Ken was a gentle man, who was partly responsible for the life of my lovely wife, and for that, and many other fine deeds, I will be forever grateful.

Ken was well loved within his beloved Edenton Street, and will always be appreciated as someone who exhibited splendid behavior.

Well said Bobby Tony. Now, America is a collection of self-absorbed neo-celebreties.

The only pathetic part of all this is that there are too many people who think that being any kind of celebrity makes them somehow special.

Hey B.T. This commentary of yours would make a fine post, or a group of posts.

You have an intimate knowledge of this tech stuff and this media stuff that belies your age, and challenges the precepts of fairly intelligent folk far younger. You really get it.

Not having real privacy as one travels the world wide web makes one want to pull back a bit, and tell the over zealous, like Facebook and Google, to get out of my face; leave me alone.

Counting porn extravaganza's, more that we both can count.

I would like to think that my President would have used protection.

Zuckerberg was lucky to catch it at the right time, and then be willing to keep it so generic, and from a functional aspect. It is not like one can publish a well developed post on his site.

But local advertisement may not be dead yet, but what advertisement could be done will have to be done well, and quite informatively.

There are good politicians, there are bad politicians and there are some really stupid politicians. It is just that the Republicans have about 90% of the good and smart ones. That does not say much for the Liberals /Socialists.

That does not say much for the Republicans: Even though the Democrats have a few rare good politicians, there aren't many because there are so few really good politicians - about 25 to 30% in my estimation at all levels of government.

Zell Miller was a well respected Senator by Republicans.

It is very sad that few core Democrats today are not patriotic enough to know the difference between patriotism and demagoguery.

Most enlightening post Ted. Liberals /Socialists just really have a hard time with the whole freedom issue, and that is why Socialism often leads to Fascism.

Yes, they can all be patriots. First, they must act like patriots. Everyone is not a patriot, and the real patriots know who the patriots are. But, Liberals can be patriots, as long as they put their nation, their communities first above party. Most elected Republicans do that; that is why they are so hard to control.

Now, here is the big exception. If one has served in the military in a war/ combat zone, they can hate America, and short of any act of real discernible, destructive treason, they will always be a patriot, at least to me.

Those that have served in war/ combat zone situations and love America; they are what I would term the super patriot. I pray that they will be among our future leaders; fine examples of such are General John Kelly and General Jim Mattis.

I guess there is some allegorical value to allocating money duties to dishonest men, but for the life of me, I can't fathom it. It probably is just the way it has always been.
Commented: Sunday, March 18th, 2018 @ 7:36 pm By: Stan Deatherage
Always follow the money with politicians. A minimum of 60% of all politicians /bureaucrats can always be tempted if the money is right, and they believe they can get away with it.

The core Democrats believed that L. Hillary would be elected, and she is known to be corrupt enough to easily allow the Obama corruption to continue.

Alex, and that is why they instituted the Electoral College: Because they questioned the intelligence of the uneducated, and now is no different.

The Electoral College will always be with us, and when it is not, I predict that we lose this Republic.

Hey Bobby Tony. The newest server that BCN sits on has 6 terabytes of storage, and is very fast at processing data.

Beautiful analogy about the essence of control; who controls what. For Trump it is about branding as well, hence the Fake News. Man, did that ever stick.

If I could put on my U.S. Constitution hat, the best way to explain the election of president is that the states have the responsibility to elect the president. If a state wished to go rogue, and not respect the wishes of the citizens in their state, and then pick someone else, they can; however, that state has to deal with a bunch of pissed off citizens going forward.

The DOJ only cares if the election process to select the electors was fairly carried out.

Recently on that other posting board, these comments of mine were met with the faux argument that deriding the "Free Press" is destructive to the 1st Amendment, to which I countered these comments:

1) No, it has been moving toward Fake News for decades. It just came full circle when Trump was elected; he just successfully branded them.

2) It is overwhelming how bad they are. I am shocked when they report anything that is news worthy.

Their infatuation with taking down this President is so manic, it reminds me just how diligently they covered for Hussein: Solyndra, Benghazi Cover-up, Uranium One, IRS political Targeting Scandal, ObamaCare, FISA Abuse for Political Targeting ... we could go on and on.
