Befuddled: I trust few bureaucrats in Beaufort County right now, and I have been in local government for nearly 25 years, as the highest elected official in Beaufort County dealing with local policy, and I have no trust in most local bureaucrats. so how in the world does Joe and Sally Citizen feel about their local governments?

What is a Small City?
Its an incorporated place where people choose to live under an agreed set of rules for the equal good. What happens when the TOP Managment decides that "The People" are "The Problem?" Well it becomes a negative attitude over the entire network of employees including the police dept. "The Staff" think the People are the problem. They need to be controlled. The People that make our work difficult must be silenced, using petty powers over them. The People learn not to trust them. Thus we can no longer work together. Then The People learn not to trust anyone because the petty govt power-brokers have unidentified supporters locally, who will report back. The whole sickness spreads. Friends will not protect friends for fear of becoming a target themselves. Its the start of a Cabal.

CT: The vast majority of local politicians suffer from the condition of NO original thought.
I discerned this condition accurately decades ago, which keeps them pliable to the overpaid and underwhelming Bureaucrat Class. CT: You forgot to include the appointed attorneys, also bureaucrats. Outside of Billy Mayo some years ago, I am at a loss to recollect an attorney for any major government that was worth their fee, and who did not control the small minds of most board members.

Why do wimpy politicians around here let arrogant bureaucrats get too big for their britches? Think City Manager, School Superintendent, County Manager.

CV: Not only was that little logo never trademarked, the public paid for it, and Stacey Davis is a member of that public. She like me, and all other taxpayers own a goodly piece of that poor logo.
One more thing here: Real Republicans live by a whole different set of rules and standards than Democratic Socialists and RINOs, whereby the former is harmed and the latter is helped ... And who pays for this obvious beneficial nod to the Leftists by the overpaid Bureaucrat Class in setting the status quo in Beaufort County government(?) ... The taxpayers always pay and pay for Leftist, and RINO corruption!

Yes, it is a carefully organized and practiced method here locally, (WAShington & the County) to target, silence, and shutdown anyone that tries to challenge the local Cabal. If you make any challenge, the Cabal will automatically research you (probably like was done to Joe the Plumber when he didnt agree with Obama on "spreading the wealth"), so they can shove back at you a personal mess that you must deal with.
It's consistent, it happens all the time. THIS NEEDS to END. Its like a Freaking Dictatorship runs this town (think ...City Manager).

Ms. Davis needs to be very careful in dealings with Cheeseman. This is the second time he has pulled something like this on her. Back when she was running against Cheeseman's buddy, liberal Democrat Mac Hodges, Cheeseman put on a show to try to disrupt her campaign by making demands about an alleged trademark violation on Davis' campaign signs. That three letter graphic had never been properly registered as a trademark, and if he claims to care so much about it, has not been registered since, either. Yet he went through a big song and dance over it to force her to waste time in the middle of a campaign dealing with it.
Cheeseman showed his true colors then and he is showing them again now.

I saw that video on TV. It looked like a nothingburger to me. What's the big deal here?

Cheeseman's hatchet job on Stacey Davis does not pass the smell test. It reeks of rancid cheese. There seems to be an acknowledgement that parents have done the same thing from time to time in the past and nobody has ever been prosecuted for it. Why start with an elected official who is not in the same camp as our liberal superintendent? Why the double standard?

Vote to much against what the left wants and they will come after you every time. Stay strong in the Lord and always do what is right and watch your back at all times.

People recognize a political hatchet job when they see it. This says more about the character of the school superintendent than anything else. Identifying others joining him in his narrative meant to destroy someone he sees as a political threat is also very enlightening. A lot can be learned from this episode.
