Personally I had nothing to do with enslaving anyone. So I’m going to continue living my life aiming to treat all people with mutual respect as equal individuals.

What ARE you Democrats going to do about the wrongs your party did, Bobbie? It was the Democrats who introduced and passed NC's Jim Crow laws at the turn of the century, as a political power play to break up the coalition between the Republicans and the Populist Party that had gained power in the state. Every Democrat in the General Assembly voted FOR Jim Crow and every Republican and Populist voted AGAINST it. The Democrats won power back running on an open platform of white supremacy, and Jim Crow was how they implemented it. Its your party's baby, Bobbie, so whatever you Democrats want to do about what you did over a century ago should NOT impose on those whose predecessors voted against Jim Crow.

DEI includes discrimination based on race and other factors in hiring, admissions, promotions, and other things. By definition, DEI is a form of racism.

Two wrongs do not make a right. Punishing a group of people today for what their fathers or grandfathers may have done 60 years ago and more is just obscene.

Fact. Up until 1964 the white people and people of color were not equal under the law.

In 1964 the laws changed but hearts take a long time to change before equality can be achieved.

DEI attempts the get privileged white people to examine their bias to level the playing field.

Ah nostalgia. Spent many afternoons at the bar restaurant before going into my job at the Victoria Station restaurant further down Piedmont Rd. To go to the bathroom one had to pass by the performers dressing room lounge area. Door was always open. A friend brought a group of us into meet Country Joe McDonald and his guitarist Barry Melton. Never would have had to guts to do that by myself. We smoked a joint and Country Joe spent the whole time staring at the ceiling. Saw Jerry Garcia there the night of my high school graduation.

What I have noticed about govt is that while they make a lot of laws, rules, and regulations, they dont ever seem to set anyone to enforce them. No one in all these agencies or depts of govt, enforces anything.
That's not part of their job. Its like a Catch 22 or circle jerk. Its a black hole, where justice for the public goes to die.
Govt doesnt care because thinking is hard work.
