American Spectator: Why No Accountability for John Thune for senate loss? | Eastern NC Now

failed Thune is seeking leadership re-election

ENCNow

The lack of enthusiasm among Republican voters that helped fuel the midterm disaster was stoked by a "Republican" senate that did not seem to be able to get anything done.  Most observers blame that on a weak and vacillating GOP Senate leader, John Thune (RINO-SD). Yet Thune has announced he is running for re-election as senate GOP leader.  Why reward such miserable failure?

The SAVE Act was the one that got the most attention, but there were lots of other things where Thune either abandoned or watered down GOP promises.  For example, the 2024 campaign promises of "no tax on overtime" and "no tax on Social Security" morphed into "no tax on SOME overtime" and "most tax on Social Security remains".

A big part of the problem is that the weak idiot Thune failed to replace Harry Reid's partisan Democrat Parliamentarian of the Senate, just as his leftwing mentor before him Mitch McConnell failed to replace her.  That position can, and it did, block consideration of lots of issued for Republicans while she was wide open with letting Democrats do what they wanted.

Thune wants a vote on the position before some races are even finalized.

The American Spectator has a good article on why John "Benedict Arnold" Thune needs to be dumped:  https://spectator.org/why-is-there-no-accountability-for-john-thune/
