Commented on Issues in the NewsNot an excuse, just common sense. If the legislature can do anything about smart meters, the local legislator to contact is conservative State Senator Bob Brinson. He is, like Kidwell, a full spectrum conservative and a real Republican, but is not a lame duck like Kidwell has been since the primary. Smart meters are a horrible idea all the way around, and trying to talk sense into the city council will be tough.
The license plate reading Flock surveillance cameras required state legislation to get off the ground, and Kidwell led the successful fight for years to block that.

The left is disingenuous when it talks about "human beings" because in their ideology they always put one set of people ahead of others. That is the essence of DEI, for example. Conservatives believe in merit not the arbitrary ranking of rights based on race, sex, sexual deviency, and other categories.
The left focuses on the "rights" of the gender confused, trying to force the rest of society to accept them in the locker rooms, rest rooms, and sports teams of the other gender. The fact that doing so goose steps all over the rights and privacy of the other gender is of no concern to them. Letting boys into girls sports gives them an unfair advantage and is highly unfair to female athletes. Yes, putting illegal alien criminals ahead of American crime victims, and illegal aliens over lawfully immigrants, are other good examples. The left wants to pigeonhole people while the right sees everyone as an individual. Woke ideology is a very good example of extremism.

Any normal principled person puts law and order over criminality. The far left like "Big Bob" does not. That is why he and most Democrats put criminal illegal aliens, those who have already committed crimes in our country over American victims of those crimes, including those murdered, raped, or robbed. Putting criminals over victims is a vicious form of extremism. Yes, it is putting ideology ahead of human beings, the crime victims.
Here is a good rebuke to Democrats like "Big Bob" delivered to a Congressional committee by a black American father whose daughter was severely and permanently injured by an illegal alien who was not supposed to even be in the country: redstate.com Listen to that anguished father denounce the Democrats who let these illegal aliens in. But those of "Bib Bob's" ilk, the Democrats, also are extreme in giving a preference to those who wantonly defy our immigration laws over those on waiting lists trying to do it the right way. Putting scofflaws ahead of persons trying to do something legally is also a mark of far left extremism that permeates today's Democrat Party. The Democrats, like "Big Bob" put their open borders ideology ahead of the American victims of illegal alien crime (and indeed some illegal alien victims of illegal alien crime). They also put their open borders ideology ahead of the aspiring immigrants doing it the right way by promoting a system that allows scofflaw illegal aliens to jump in line ahead of them. Democrat politicians have openly admitted they push that agenda because they think illegal aliens will get a "pathway to citizenship" and vote for them. For Democrats it is ALL about power.

Another feature of extremism (left of right):
Ideology over human beings. Extremists are willing to dehumanize others to further their ideology or world view. Today it's worse than ever. Technology allows us to sit behind a keyboard and say awful things we likely would not say in the public square. Boundaries get pushed; real people get hurt. Every extremist works off this concept of pitting one group against another.

Commented on Issues in the NewsWashingtonian, I am not aware of the "smart meter" issue ever coming before the General Assembly or how Washington's nutty drive to install them would come before that body. As far as influencing the city council, Kidwell is now a lame duck where his influence is gone. As to Armstrong, his campaign showed he was pretty clueless on issues outside farming, and that situation is unlikely to improve. It is not credible to think he would be one of the handful of "read every bill" legislators. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of special interest money have bought our district for the "RoundUP RINO".

Commented on Iceland voters choose sovereignty in national referendum, reject bid to join European UnionThe Icelandic people are on top of their s***, nobody wants to piss them off. When they kicked out the bank, that sent a message.
Put it this way: I'd volunteer to help boost the birth rate there instead of them paying "outsiders" to come in; that's one of the few issues I have with the Icelandic government.

Accurate???? What "Big Bob" does is stereotype people. Citizens have enough to be upset about without having to "manufacture outrage". Most conservatives have some exposure to the left/liberal MSM during their days, so at least on the right, most people are hearing both sides. Those on the left, however, probably do lack exposure to sources from other perspectives.
One popular internet source of news, the RealClear site, deliberately posts articles from both sources on the left and sources on the right. It is a good way to stay up on what the other side is saying.

Will: The metaphor - "I'm okay; you're okay" - does not work in today's political landscape.
If the very best politicians are not elected going forward, we may prove to 'NOT be determined to survive as a Constitution Republic.' You do remember the Vegetable Biden Administration ... Right?

Extremists defy our laws and support others who do. Normal citizens respect our laws and want to see them enforced. That includes our immigration laws. Some far left extremists not only condone illegal aliens breaking our immigration laws to sneak across the border, but it does not even upset them when those illegal aliens then start breaking our criminal laws on a wide variety of things from murder adn rape and burglary to shoplifting. Normal citizens want to see our laws enforced. Extremists like "Big Bob" do not.

The only "extremist" I have seen posting on this site goes by the screen name of "Big Bob". To him, if you are to the right of AOC or Bernie Sanders, his little mind tells him you are an "extremist". If Bobby really wants to see an extremist, he just has to look in a mirror.

Another feature of extremism (left or right):
Manufacturing outrage. Since we tend to only access media sources we agree with, those sources, which must turn a profit, understand that the best way to increase traffic or viewership is to amplify certain points of view to keep their audience coming back for more. The truth no longer matters. It's about "clicks." Social media has perfected this method by keeping us outraged over this, that, or the other thing to the point nobody knows what's going on. We lurch from outrage to outrage as we are taken advantage of by people whose primary concern is personal gain. Every extremist knows that fear, makes them relevant.

Big Bob, there are not enough hours in the day to outline just how Non Patriot Leftists are a huge drag on the sustainability of this Republic. Every normal American knows that.
No right thinking American believes that Illegals should be allowed to pour into our nation of laws, and then once we get lawless vegetables, like the latest Democratic Socialist Idiot, out of the office of the executive, patriotic Americans are not going to enforce our immigration codes. Big Bob: There is only one side to what is real.

Anyone who has themselves actually been a slave should be able to file for reparations with the UN against whatever country they were a slave in. If they have not themselves ever been a slave, then such claims would be total BS. The UN is useless.

Commented on Issues in the NewsGood points. Those Flock surveillance cameras are a Stalinist assault on our privacy. Making them permanent was placed in the Budget bill by the Senate, meaning the only way to stop it was voting down the entire budget, something nobody in the legislature had any stomach for. Kidwell and the Freedom Caucus was able to block the Flocks for years until RINOs used an excused medical absence by Kidwell to slip it into a bill at the last minute. Apparently nobody else in the Freedom Caucus was in the "read every bill" including the last minute changes mode like Kidwell was.
Genuine conservatives are waking up to the totalitarian threat of Flock cameras and the computer network that coordinates them. Texas Governor Greg Abbott just issued an executive order blocking use of state funds for them in his state. We need a lot more vigilant conservatives like Abbott and Kidwell.
