Commented on Sign the Petition to Save SnowdenCV: I think you are probably right. My guess is that the other community schools on the southside of the river aren't safe for so long either.

Commented on Sign the Petition to Save SnowdenVZ, with Snowden gone, the Deep State within our school system has now probably put a target on the back of Bath Elementary.

Commented on Sign the Petition to Save SnowdenI consider the closing of Snowden School to not only be a huge loss to Aurora, but also to all of Beaufort County. Community schools should be better appreciated. When they are gone, they are not easily replaced.

Commented on Another Political Campaign BeginsStan: It's the World Economic Forum held annually in Davos, Switzerland. A few years ago, they made that video with young actors touting, "You will own nothing and be happy." They want a world carbon tax and wish to force people to use public transportation. Oh yeah, they think it's not good for us regular folks to eat meat; grasshoppers would be better. National borders? Who needs that? Live outside a population center - Should not be allowed according to them. That's just a bit of it. There are hundreds of pages of UN Bull $#!T these elitists want to force on us ordinary peasants of the world.

When will we be getting these ICE teams in eastern NC? We need immigration law enforcement here, too.

Sanctuary counties like Mecklenburg (Charlotte) are the ideal hunting ground to find illegal alien criminals because unlike most the country, local authorities are not turning them over for deportation when they have finished their sentence. These scofflaws would rather keep the illegal alien criminals in their community to continue to prey on local citizens. ICE is standing strong for public safety and the rule of law.

Commented on Sign the Petition to Save SnowdenDespite the fact that most of the commenters on this site seem to have an understanding of the successes accomplished at S.W. Snowden School, there is still some incorrect information being told as truth within the community as a whole. Allow me to present the official record:
The truth is Snowden School has made an impressive comeback from the damage brought about by the time of remote learning during the covid scare. While all schools had big challenges during this episode, I believe rural schools like Snowden were disproportionally harmed during that time. Over the last three years the school has been making steady progress. This past year Snowden made tremendous gains. The school grade increased by over eight points. This spike upward moved the school up an entire letter grade. In the last year as a school Snowden strongly returned to its former solid status. Last year, Snowden was one of the two Beaufort County schools that exceeded expectations, and they exceeded expectations more than any other school in our county. We should all commend the students and staff of S.W. Snowden for their extraordinary accomplishments. I was amazed and honored to be able to see what was done at Snowden in its last year as a Beaufort County School. We should all be proud of the students, staff, and community of Aurora and Richland Township. I know I am.

Commented on DEI: The Billion-Dollar Zombie That Won’t Stay DeadGood for the School Board in removing DEI. Now, what about the BC Community College, which has been all-in on DEI? Maybe the county commission could tie funding to ending DEI there.

Since Stein is a lawyer and former state Attorney General, one would have thought he would have been familiar with the definitions of "immigrant" and of "illegal alien" in the United States Code (federal statutory law). The term "immigrant" only applies to someone who is properly going through the immigration process beginning with an application to come to America as an immigrant. It does not apply to those who sneak across the border or overstay a tourist or other visa. Our immigration statutes clearly define those who come or stay illegally as "illegal aliens". Read the law, governor, before making a fool of yourself.

Commented on DEI: The Billion-Dollar Zombie That Won’t Stay DeadThe Beaufort County School Board has recently amended our policies to ban all DEI in our curriculum. We are currently asking for proposals for a new science curriculum, and that policy has been communicated to the companies seeking to provide our new curriculum. As a board, we will probably have to hold their feet to the fire on this policy. A Locke Foundation poll found that 71% of North Carolina parents are concerned about political indoctrination in the classroom.

It is not surprising that leftwing Google conspired with the UN to suppress information that was inconvenient for the UN's CO2 climate cult. Google's searches have long been known to be politically rigged. It is a very dishonest search engine filled with political manipulation. Conservatives should avoid Google and use one of the more honest search engines like DuckDuckGo. BraveSearch, or even Bing. Google is the absolute worst.

Stan, what they are is propagandists, not journalists, modern practitioners of the dark arts of Josef Goebbels. The BBC has been bent for years, biased against the UK's own Conservative Party. The British people seem to know it, as the most watched news programing in the UK is now GB News, which has a conservative perspective.
IT is good however to see the CEO and news director of the BBC have to resign over this doctoring of the news.

Need to start holding these judges responsible for all the deaths and harm caused by their rulings. If an illegal invader driving a 18 wheeler kills someone because of this ruling, the judges should be charged with accessory to murder. All the illegal invaders the judge ordered released any crime they commit the judge should also be charged with that crime since they are the reason the invader is free.

Commented on Another Political Campaign BeginsSpeaking of Uncle Frankie, has anybody heard anything about the megaschools?
I haven't heard a peep from anyone of position, have y'all? There're "rumblings" that the Greater BOCO Metropolis project may have run into issues and that there's a damage control plan being rolled around. Again, this isn't coming from me; this is coming from what I've heard in talking with people who have a good pulse on things throughout the county. When Unca Stan, point blank, asked Randy Walker about the current numbers of enrollment some months back, Randy spouted off that "test scores are better than ever and people are coming to Beaufort County." I think there's some truth to these "rumblings" and they might have some connection to why Uncle Frankie is allegedly not running next time around. We'll see.......

Commented on City of Washington Municipal Election PostmortemBefuddled, here is a better one from Lord Acton: "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." When elected officials allow themselves to be used as window dressing and rubberstamps for administrators, it is creating absolute power in the administrators, whether at federal, state, or local level.
