For some reason, here in a political season of a nonpartisan election, the Executive took the initiative to become involved and allocate funding, without meeting and voting for any action to do so.

Yes Buzz, the "Buddy Law" exist strongly in Beaufort County and Washington.
That what makes it corrupt. The corrupt are willing to lie because "the ends justify the means." WeThePeople are just bothersome bastards in the way of their agenda. You will be crushed with lies if you dare stand up.
Its a dirty shame that WeThePpl must first investigate who a lawyer's friend are, or who a judges friend are, or who an elected person's friend are, or who a bureaucrat's friends are, before we reveal to them all our evidence.
This is a small place and one never knows when one has accidentally stepped behind enemy lines.

P.S. Buzz, I wonder what's the name of that lawyer?

JV: For years I have been hearing that while Kidwell votes mostly conservative in Raleigh, he twists the knife in the backs of conservatives at home. Now I'm seeing it for myself.

I've been asking some of the Executive Committee members about that "Victory Committee" that some of the people you mentioned are on. The Executive Committee members that I know actually do not know much about it. It seems the committee doesn't report back to the Executive Committee. That is not a healthy situation.

The party insiders have really shown their true colors regarding Mrs. Davis. That Forest woman using her position as a Republican Party officer was attacking her during the election cycle. Despite that, Mrs. Davis won over a 40-year incumbent Democrat. Now in her first year in office the local Republican Party insiders are already demanding she resign. These characters seem to be opposed to any real Republican gains. They obviously have other goals.

I know there are some good people on the county Republican Executive Committee. They have their hands full dealing with the snakes running things now.

Van Zant: I think that Ol' Karpetbagger Kidwell and Varcoe (both are Yankees) are trying to oust ANY Conservative mind who calls them out on their bulls***; Garris is the public face AND the distraction.

Both Kidwell and his handler, Varcoe, have a proven history of dodging direct questioning and abruptly leaving meetings when "We, The People" hold their feet to the fire. Many have seen this and know these truths to be evident BUT, mysteriously, he is always "reelected"?

With that being said, I think the most recent botched hitjob on Mrs. Davis has guaranteed incoming napalm strikes on those who sought to turn the public opinion against her and others who share her scope of view.

Kidwell, Varcoe and Garris have stupidly declared war on common sense conservatives who think outside of the box....the very people they CLAIM themselves to be. These are the idiots who sank Atlantis into the Heavens....they never learn.

Is the Executive Committee actively recruiting strategic minds?

Dan Bishop is a solid conservative and a fighter. I wish he had stuck to his original plan and run for Tillis' US Senate seat this year, instead of letting himself get talked into the Attorney General race by Phil Berger. Bishop would have been a far better candidate and a far better senator than Whatley. Unlike Whatley, Bishop would have likely whipped Cooper in the general election.

Unless there is some accountability, this mess will get worse.

Absolutely! Those who usurped the power of the presidency should be indicted, and those who benefited should be stripped on the benefits they got from the autopen. Yes, that includes the Biden judges.

Michael Whatley has the personal appeal of a mashed potato sandwich, and the Supreme Court candidate chosen by this bunch has even less appeal. The NCGOP needs to do better if it wants to win, and I have a novel idea, Why not leave the selection to an open primary of GOP voters instead of trying to handpick favorites?

This seems to be the trend. We see it around the country. It's certainly happening in the North Carolina GOP. Same thing in local GOP.

John Steed,
It is easy to see how the GOP elites sway the machinations of the GOP. They rig the state party conventions in many ways to prevent the grassroot republicans from having any influence over the outcomes. The Plan of Organization is ignored or overridden by parliamentary procedures; attendees are shutdown from speaking by ruling comments or motions from the floor ruled out of order, and counting votes for chairman and other officers from members not in attendance.
Participates are discouraged from attending by charging exorbitant fees to attend the many functions they have during the three days. When you add the three nights hotel expenses and travel, it can easily cost $800 to attend and participate in all the functions.
Why attend if your vote is going to count even though you are not in attendance?

Greenville also saw conservatives gain. A leftwing incumbent on the city council was defeated by a conservative challenger, giving conservatives a majority with Mayor Connelly's tie breaking vote. Unfortunately, conservatives failed to pick up the at-large seat which would have added to the majority.

The insiders are indeed trying to rig the game on our nominees. The best way to spell loser is W-H-A-T-L-E-Y. We need to keep this seat and to do it we need a nominee that is something other than a warmed over Tillis. At least we have someone else to vote for in that one. It does not look like we will on the Supreme Court seat, and we desperately need a nominee who is stronger than the one the insiders want to foist upon us.

Washington citizens and especially taxpayers had a great election day. Our city will now be back on a fiscally prudent path. Sadler's tax increase was an outrage and cost him his seat as mayor, as it should have.

The new city council needs to remember that the city manager is their employee, NOT their boss. If he gets too big for his britches, send him packing. We have too many arrogant bureaucrats in local government in our county, anyway. It is high time to start replacing some of them. What a great election result. We now have council members who understand how business actually works and the impact excessive taxes have on real people.

Yes, CT, why is Stacey Drakeford the Deputy City manager, the
police chief and the Director of public safety. At times he has been all this AND the Fire Chief.
Sounds to me like he plays the cherished role as "Team Player." He has been like a roaming team player that keeps the Cabal TIGHT!

Washingtonian: Good questions; however, I have been told by the three members of the Tax Cut Team that they will listen to me, and will learn whatever worthwhile I can impart.

As a Beaufort County Commissioner, I have developed a firm reputation as a free agent, and well knowledgeable about all levels of governing, and I promise that I will be paying close attention to the City of Washington to make sure there is a solid turn to the light of truly doing the People's business, which they have not for years.

Stan, or did we just replace one group of City Manager rubber stamps for a new group of rubber stamps. Will "the STAFF" (code name for cabal), still write the motions for the Council, of which they will obediently read back to the public? It all remains to be seen. Keep your eyes open, and watch to see if the Council meetings continue to be choreographed, as if it were a theatrical performance.

CT: There is so many positions to be eliminated at the City of Washington.

Hiring an abundance of government employees is not economic Development.

Great news for the taxpayers of Washington. Congratulations to our fine new leadership team. A better city manager would also be a big help, and why in the heck does a city of our size need an assistant city manager? That is one position that could easily be eliminated to save money.

That pompous twit of a city manager now needs his walking papers. He played a big role in the tax increases.

Fortunately for the taxpayers of Washington, NC, SNI /ENCNOW had the distinct pleasure of working with Top Vote Getter Nick Fritz in his quest to guide the City of Washington from their brink of governmental insanity through insolvency, with a great big ole splash of corruption thrown in for good measure.

No Nonsense Nick Fritz not only was elected Washington's Mayor Pro Tem, but he is the natural legislative leader on the council, and I wish the entire City Government Godspeed in turning around a long inept government that has made huge governing blunders through malfeasance, and therefore has incurred much liability in failing, in all good governing conscience, to provide for the proper environment for conducting the People's business.

Governing is serious business, and it is high time that the City of Washington treat it as such.

Since NYC has gone communist, maybe we should just cede it to the UN, which has its headquarters there and let them run it. Build a wall around it and have a secure border with the place. Without NYC, the rest of the state would probably vote Republican. Let the UN have this hellhole. With a communist government, we should not want it.

Fraudulently collecting Mediciaid should be included on the justification for picking up these illegal alien criminals, but don't waste time to prosecute and jail them, just send them home. The state and local officials who gave them Medicaid need to be prosecuted and jailed for Medicaid fraud.
