The rented mule often has no idea how bad it's being treated. In this case trump wasn't in office long enough to face the reality of his policy. As long as America needs cheap labor, that boarder will remain porous. That's the math buddy. Economics trumps racism. Even the germans made the Jews work before easing them.

Although its hard to argue against the death penalty for those who molest kids under 12, Big Bob is not a fan of the death penalty because of how its unjustly applied. On the flip side, a lot of clergy are going to be staring at a needle.

Big Government Bob once again displays either his ignorence or his shooting from the hip without knowing what he is talking about. Hillsdale College was founded by abolitionists and has admitted black students since it was founded in 1844. That was a time that many northern states had "Black Codes" that were far more draconian in stripping black people of their rights than the later Jim Crow laws. In spite of those Black Codes, Hillsdale took a stand and admitted black students. "KKK" "white supremacy" Nonsense! You are an uninformed blowhard, Big Government Bob.

I think George Orwell may have been thinking about people like Bob when he wrote: "So much of left-wing thought is a kind of playing with fire by people who don't even know that fire is hot." - George Orwell

Well, your handle is a good description of the content of your posts. Bridges itself, on its own website, boasts that it is aligned with Common Core, and here is the smoking gun: www.mathlearningcenter.org
So do some independnet studies from educational publications, but the rules of this site only allow me to post one link and I have used that for the link from the Bridges site. I'll bet you are all in for the "woke" Marxist alphabet soup of CRT, DEI, and ESG. From the research of others, that is also in Bridges. But parents across ideological lines have been fighting Common Core since it was first thrust upon US schools. It is a problem unrelated to CRT, DEI, or ESG. The school official who claimed that Bridges has nothing to do with Common Core was not telling those at that meeting the truth. That is the liar you should be concerned about.

John you cannot get out of the way of your own wrong comments. As a parent we need to start to stand up against your Buzz words. Get with life oh I bet you are a Hood person that feels this country decrease in size is good. As a parent I have sat on the sidelines long enough I see the same 2 or 3 get up there and talk in public and say the same stuff. Send me the next education meeting I am an African American parent and would like to know what you are trying to get into our schools. #tiredofbackwoodspeop le

There have been lots of cases of a good guy or gal with a gun stopping a criminal or terrorist.
What happened at Uvalde was rent-a-cops being cowards and even stopping outside lae enforcement from going in. In the Nashville terrorist atack by a transgender, on the other hand, local law enforcement went into action immediately and took down the terrorist. That terrorist specifically picked that school as a target because she determined that it was gun free whereas her other investigated targets had armed defenders present. A sign outside a school saying something like "staff are armed and will defend this school, outside guns prohibited" would be a huge deterent to these terrorists because most of them are cowards and want to attack where people are not armed to shoot back. We do not need to let our schools be soft targets.

Big Bob: Why did you say "Big Money on Both Sides" controls the open Southern Border, yet it was President Trump that worked diligently against the evil actions of the Non Patriot Left to close the border?
I really don't think you understand the math of these issues, while certainly not complicated, does appears to be so for you Leftists.

All you have to do is look on the website for Bridges, and they say it aligns with Common Core math. Who "told" that it was "not" Common Core math? Education bureaucrats who were trying to push it through. The same education bureaucrats who "told" that SAVVAS wid not contain CRT concepts. They "told" what they thought would help their cause, NOT what was true.

Lies, I was in the room as a parent at the last meeting on a number of questions it was told this is not common core. I personally have looked over this and it is not common core math. As a parent I am tired of the old people in there telling lies about this county that are not true. My child will do better under this math and we need to move forward!!!

There is no question, that Rader summed it up perfectly. Big Bob and his cohorts are still trying to divide us.
To Big Bob, you do a good job of trying to make us believe you are a thoughtful educated person. At times like this your true values come out. You have destroyed yourself again. If i were as uninformed as you, I would hide behind a moniker too.

Maybe, but like Uvalde TX, the armed and trained men failed miserably. I'm sure 3rd grade teacher Miss Betty will do much better.

The elephant in the room that the school administration seems to be denying is TRANSPARENCY. I asked a couple of the school board members if they had been given access to all of this new curriculum to evaluate it and they had not. Have any been given access to it? Then there is the public, the parents and taxpayers, who should also have had a means of access if they wanted so they could make informed comments on it. That has not been given. The school administration seems to be demanding that the board vote on a pig in a poke, and that demand is arrogant and an affront to democracy. Elected board members need to be fully informed on what they are asked to vote on, not expected to rubber stamp the superintendant's desires. The public also needs to be fully informed. The school administration needs to be taught a lesson in democracy by putting off the vote on this curriculum until there is full transparency on it.

Some of those comments on the Daily Haymaker point to the real problem here. We have certain Republican legislators, including those in the leadership, who ought to mount red lights above their office doors because they are such prostitutes for the special interests. The state senator who (mis)represents Beaufort County is one of those, Jim Perry of Kinston.
Like the NC Green New Deal and the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, NC consumers are being screwed to the wall to pander to the crooked special interests. Big companies like Duke Energy, which has an electric monopoly in most of North Carolina, and Blue Cross, an oligopoly with 83% of the medicial insurance business in North Carolina are being heavily favotred over John Q. Citizen. Jim Perry is trying to be the best politician that special interest money can buy. We should not forget the chief sponsor of this corrupt special interest bill, Rep. John Bradnford (RINO-Mecklenburg, who was liberal Thom Tillis' handpicked replacement in his old NC House seat when Tillis went to Washington. Now Bradford is trying to run for Dale Folwell's job as State Treasurer. Electing Bradford would be an unmitigated disaster and we need to stop him in the primary. If not, then conservatives should just sit out the general election for State Treasurer or if available vote for a protest candidate such as a Libertarian. The Democrat is certain to be as bad as Bradford.

The Parkland attack is what motivated the Florida legislature to pass the bill to allow armed teachers. If they had those during the Parkland attack, it would have been a different story. In fact, as no longer a soft target, it would have probably detered the shooter from even attempting it.
