Comments for Have We Become 'A Swing and a Miss' Nation?

After more that 6 years of Amateur Obama's patent dishonesty and sophistry, the Democrats appear to want more of the same, or maybe worse with Hillary B. Clinton: Or do they?

Whee dogies," as Jed Clampett would say---lets go swim in the cement pond while Granny brews another batch of lightening . . ."

Again, I sometimes talk about politcs/government, which is what I know, but I almost never talk about religion.

You are living in a County dominated by Church of Christ which brought the lawsuit to throw out the Marriage Amendment as unconstitutional. You need to enroll at SEBTS where you would feel comfortable in these days of abject Conservatism, bud. . .

It is always the dog that sneaks up behind you that bites your butt the best --- of the ornery mule that kicks you in the head = BEWARE---you are safe if he hits your hard head---otherwise you might just learn a few lessons about TRUTH, old sport.

The Baptists are your issue, not mine.

I'm concerned with a nation that is becoming too stupid to survive. Now, I know how to fix that, but we're going to need a lot more smart people in government to do it, and then you will need a much smarter electorate to elect them, so we are back to education.

And that is also what I do. I am an optimist, but I also know that stupid kills, so I am extra vigilant of the Stupids. I've done more than my part to correct such.

Why don't you go over to the comment section on my posts regarding the SBC Conservatives and their ways. See if it makes sense to you and try to get around their actions which have had a deep influence in NC . . .

The higher the Conservative Monkey climbs the tree --- the more you see his tail!

Referring back to my last comment thanking my Liberal Friend, Gene, for the hackneyed Liberal buzz words /buzz words that Liberals are expected to use when debating, I was wrong to include 'name-calling' on the list. 'Name-calling was already on the list, and for good reason, and I should have been more cognitive of that trite Liberal phrase's inclusion.

Bullies/bully/bullied, however, is another matter, and has not been added yet to the Liberals' List of 'acceptable speech', in fact the Liberal phrase 'acceptable speech' needs to be added to the list as well. So now to mention the 'acceptable speech so mindlessly, and thoroughly trashed by Liberals, here below is the working list of such -

Liberals' List (updated) of Acceptable Buzz Words / Buzz Phrases:

Racist, gay, LGBT (Q), progressive, diversity, empowerment, neanderthal, mean-spirited, social justice, 1%, Koch Brothers, stakeholders, Rush Limbaugh, Faux News, Hate, Hate Speech, name-calling, Bush/Cheney, bigot, Conservative, torture, moral equivalency, income redistribution, bipartisanship (or do it our way), trickle down, acceptable speech, bullies/bully/bullied, etc. ... until I can add more, and I will do so, as long as there is Liberal speak.

It's over, you lost, give it up.

But I do thank-you for giving me two more Liberal buzz words/phrases that I should have already collected: bullies/bully/bullied and name-calling.

Thanks. I'll add them to Liberals' list.

If you were to want my mind and depth---it would be the same a putting a grand piano in a broom closet of Conservatism. Sorry, I can't fix such --- so deal with it and try to look in a mirror of self-examination. Had Hitler and his henchmen done such, Jews would have not been molested and killed along with Gypsies and homosexuals.

People who name-call are bullies on the playard and I busted quite a few as a grammar and high school student. Grow up and live with others, if you are wise / keep on with your brand of conservatism and you will become the laughing stock of Beaufort County before you are finished here.

Straw-man argument about Nazis and Jews denouncing name-calling, then reverting back to Liberal 'name-calling', which is a trite Liberal ploy, signifying the debate is over - you lost, as Liberals always do when outmatched.

You might as well have cried 'RACIST!', which is now well known as the Liberals' cry of 'uncle' to signify I know I've lost; I give up, but here is a parting shot to give my fellow Liberals hope.

I am far from resting my case, Stan --- It is that the Nazi way of labeling Jews as "Christ killing Rats" led to concentration camps and gas chambers with big furnaces to destroy the evidence through cremation of Jews. Now Israel is a source of reverse hate in the Middle East and they are cleansing the West Bank of all Arabs.

Words of TRUTH always get out. They are understood by wise people who look beneath the hate of labels applied too quickly to others who see through the hate and misnomers of Conservatism.
Commented: Saturday, June 13th, 2015 @ 5:47 am By: Gene Scarborough
Bernie Sanders labels himself as a Socialist; Elizabeth Warren labels herself as an ultra Liberal.

I rest my case on all this self-professed moderate nonsense.

Stan---I am BOTH Progressive and Loving in my outlook on life and politics as well as religion. Your fancy words inserted in this article are the same as Dr. Paige Patterson who became President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) and now President of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) which is the largest of all the Southern Baptist Seminaries. He uses big words to cover his small mind.

I like Bernie Sanders for his forthright views inside Congress. Elizabeth Warren also appeals to me. Both of them come from real middle-class America and have not forgotten their roots and struggle even though they now are tempted with bribes and saying only what appeals to the rich control part of America.

We have such political examples in BOTH parties---Dwight Eisenhower / Harry Truman / Teddy Roosevelt / Franklin D. Roosevelt / Miss Mae Coker whom I cited some time back. Those who rise to heights of influence and some financial success are always tempted to forget "from whence they came."

When Paige Patterson came to Wake Forest his pompous wife immediately decided to give the President's house a new name of "pomp and circumstance." She had a sign painted that you can see today if you pass through on NC 98 headed to Durham the back way.

MAGNOLIA HILL is right there. The locals of Wake County are laughing their behinds off at the pomposity ~~~ Magnolia Hill was the last whorehouse in Wake County in days gone by!!!

"Beware of too much rise too quick," is my take. Hillary suffers from the disease as well as Ronald Reagan and Dick Cheney. You must read "Worse Than Watergate" by John Dean (who was up to his neck in the Nixon fiasco). On the religious side, you can read Joel Gregory's book on W.A. Criswell who refused to resign even when Gregory was called as the next pastor of FBC Dallas. "Too Great A Temptation" is that book. Both show a down-to-earth analysis of folks forgetting their commonality with citizens once getting to a place of great influence and the "Peter Principle" brought them to ruin . . .

Stan---I believe you can disagree without being disagreeable. This is the missing ingredient in politics of late. I listen carefully to both words and emotions as an experienced Counselor. I have seen hate to the level of "no matter what, we are going to get rid of you"---this in Baptist churches my father pastored. I had two as well. The real problem was with people in angst over their "pretending church."

Some Baptist churches do this thing entitled "Annual Call." Primitave Baptists do it / old time non-missionary Baptists do / there is a Association of Baptists down in Columbus County and Horry County, crossing the state line. It is the Carolina Association and they do it in the "old-fashioned way."

Good politics says, "The election is over, let's do something for the people who elected us." In NC we have a Governor and Legislature bragging over what they have done. They are lying to us over "tax savings." Lowering deductions costs people MORE instead of LESS.

Tell me, Stan --- did you NC Tax go down this April or last????

Good Republicans love stopping stupid policy almost as well as we like passing wise policy.

All personality driven "Hate" speech aside, it is the way the game is played.

All we have had out of Conservative Congressmen/women is hate and non-cooperation~~~yet our good President keeps smiling and going on with life, buddy!

If he pens a sprig of mistletoe to his coat tail after the last SOTU address, I would cheer and yell with DELIGHT = "This is my last message to ya!!!"
Commented: Sunday, May 10th, 2015 @ 5:20 pm By: Gene Scarborough
If you want me to lay off Hillary, or Barack Hussein, investigate them (you Liberals) as you would a Republican, or start running honest, principled men and women for office where it effects me.

That is all I ask.
Commented: Sunday, May 10th, 2015 @ 4:28 pm By: Stan Deatherage
I use the word "Liberal" merely as a descriptor where it fits best, like I would use the word Conservative or Libertarian.

I almost never use the word "Hate". That would be your department.
Commented: Sunday, May 10th, 2015 @ 4:23 pm By: Stan Deatherage
Stan --- PLEASE DROP THE LIBERAL - HATE, man. WE know how you feel, but every single comment is getting more than old to a SLIGHTLY LEFT OF CENTER FELLOW . . .
Commented: Sunday, May 10th, 2015 @ 11:13 am By: Gene Scarborough
It is interesting how we are getting into a mud slinging match over you calling me Liberal and me calling you Conservative. The last few days we are throwing mud pies without making any new ones. In other words, we are accusing one another's group we identify with of the exact things.

It boils down to MISTRUST.

We can agree that things aren't going well in the country, but blaming exclusively one segment or another SOLVES NOTHING!!!
Commented: Friday, May 1st, 2015 @ 4:14 am By: Gene Scarborough
You Liberals are very different; I get that.

For you, Liberals, the truth is always the first casualty. You create 'straw man arguments' that other Liberals identify with, but make no sense to the thoughtful among us: '40 terrorists tortured - what a tragedy, and no wonder they murder tens of thousands of Christians; Hood and Stan argue too much - it's their fault our Liberal county commissioners make bad policy and raise our taxes.'

This is why I never take you Liberals seriously.

My first concern to be subpoenaed is POW Torture / Stand Down command on 9/11. It amazes me how important things are overlooked by Conservatives ~~~ and they bitch and moan over supposed "imperfections" --- their monkey tails are shining from the tree after the last election!!!
Commented: Thursday, April 30th, 2015 @ 6:18 pm By: Gene Scarborough
So you would not have any problem with the subpoenaing of information that has been denied congress for all these years, and that you do not approve of Hillary shredding her government e-mails.

You know, there are many Liberals that have problems with the Obama Administration's complete lack of transparency, buffeted by his barrage of lies. You know, you can break with the ultra Liberal hypocrisy at any time.
Commented: Thursday, April 30th, 2015 @ 5:41 pm By: Stan Deatherage
I surely hope the Obama EO did just that. Any government works best in the bright light of honest disclosure. We have lost too much respect over recent years because of all the lies told us which turned out to be exactly opposite of the predicted outcome and promises of Washington and Raleigh. . .
Commented: Thursday, April 30th, 2015 @ 5:26 pm By: Gene Scarborough
Yeah sure.

A middle of the road thinker, who despises Ronald Reagan. Right

Stan---I am a Middle-of-the-Road thinking citizen, if you please!!!

Your abject refusal to take Conservative criticism has you clinging to a sinking piece of waterlogged wood in a big ocean of REGRESSION, man.

National Security was stamped on his toilet paper and napkins lest we find out he secretly took a drink!!!

Had he been our protector, 9/11 never would have happened / our response would have been in the right places rather than oil rich Iraq / black ops and Special Forces would have been deployed and we could have gotten his buddy from the ben Laden family~~~which he quickly got out of the US on military aircraft.
Commented: Thursday, April 30th, 2015 @ 5:51 am By: Gene Scarborough
National Security? It was the one thing that Bush was really good at. His military were the great warriors of our time, and for the best of reasons.
Commented: Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 @ 6:58 pm By: Stan Deatherage
HE DOUBLED THE TIME TO HAVE OPEN FILES ON ANYTHING MARKED: NATIONAL SECURITY, bud!
By that "evil" thing called Executive Order---of which he did twice as much as "Obummer."
Commented: Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 @ 6:55 pm By: Gene Scarborough
This is the here and now.

If the liberal media had anything real on Bush / Cheney, it would have come out already.

You Liberals, who are obsessed with George Bush and Dick Cheney, are blind to real events. You always will be.
Commented: Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 @ 5:49 pm By: Stan Deatherage
I can't wait until the full story on Bush/Cheney comes out!!!

At the end of"W"-1. John Dean of Watergate fame wrote "Worse Than Watergate." It exposed the Bush EO to double the time on the Statute of Limitation--retroactive to Reagan. That did not hit the papers as the time. Cheney was in terrible heart failure health / more black ops took place with 9/11 than you can imagine. There was serious stuff about WMD that WEREN'T THERE and how we ended up in the Oil rich country of Iraq and quickly got the ben Laden family out because both Bushes were entwined with their oil enterprise and boards!

Like you say, Stan---TRUTH ALWAYS RISES!!!
Commented: Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 @ 5:01 pm By: Gene Scarborough
It's just a book. It does not own the truth. The truth will be found out regardless. Books like "Clinton Cash" only guide the way by asking questions the liberal media would not dare to ask.

Trey Gowdy may get to the bottom of all of these Liberals' lies.
