    Raleigh, NC     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

    North Carolina Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission

    Danny Moody (Harnett County) - Moody is currently the chief of protocol, historian and special collections librarian for the Supreme Court of North Carolina. He established and led the NC Supreme Court's Historical Society, serving as its executive director. Prior to this, Moody was the chief hearing officer for License and Theft in the Enforcement Section of the Division of Motor Vehicles within the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

    The commission makes decisions regarding paroles and inmate populations in the state. Members also advise the governor on clemency matters. The commission has four members, each serving a four-year term. All members are appointed by the governor. Moody will be sworn in as a commission member today at 12:00 p.m. at the Supreme Court of North Carolina on 2 East Morgan Street in downtown Raleigh.

    North Carolina Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists Board of Examiners

   •  Philip Blalock (Davie County) - Blalock is a speech pathologist in Mocksville. He is a reappointment for this board. He will represent the position designated for someone with paid work experience in speech pathology for at least five years and who holds a North Carolina license as a speech and language pathologist.

   •  Cynthia Poole (Catawba County) - Poole has served on this council as a public member. She is a reappointment for this board. Poole has been appointed to represent the interest of the public at large.

   •  Emily Page (Lee County) - Page is an independent senior director at Thirty-One Gifts. She has experience in human resources and overseeing financial aspects of a children's center. She has been appointed to represent the interest of the public at large.

    The board safeguards the public from incompetent, unscrupulous and unauthorized persons and unprofessional conduct on the part of qualified speech-language pathologists and audiologists to assure the availability of the highest possible quality services to communicatively handicapped people in North Carolina. The commission has seven members, each serving a three-year term.

    North Carolina Local Government Commission

    Earl Phillip (Mecklenburg County) - Phillip is the CEO of Innovative Consulting Services in Charlotte. Previously, he was the human resources director of Seaton Corporation/SMX until January 2012. He has a master's in public administration from Troy University. Phillip will be appointed by the governor to represent the interest of the public at large.

    The commission advises the state's units of local government on accounting and budgeting and approves the issuance of local government general obligations, revenue bonds and most installment purchases. The commission has nine members, each serving a four-year term.
