    Raleigh, NC     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments:

    Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System Board of Trustees

   •  Hollis Dowdy (Lee County) - Dowdy has been a member of the NC Army National Guard since leaving active duty in the US Army in 1991. He is the director of risk management for the city of Sanford. He earned an MBA from Fayetteville State University.

    Michael Jacobs (Orange County) - Jacobs is a professor of practice of finance at UNC-Chapel Hill. He received his undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and received his MBA at Harvard.

   •  Jack Brooks (Mitchell County) - Brooks is the interim assistant principal at Mitchell High School. He attended the US Military Academy and received both his undergraduate degree and master's degree in education from Appalachian State University.

   •  Alberta Hall (Wake County) - Hall is the employee relations manager at the North Carolina Department of Labor. She has been in her current position since May 2005 and has been a state employee for more than 15 years.

   •  Michael Mebane (Forsyth County) - Mebane is a management consultant with the State Government Employee Retirement Systems. He received his degree from Wake Forest University.

   •  John Aneralla (Mecklenburg County) - Aneralla is the founder and president of Bulldog Asset Management. He graduated with an MBA from Hofstra University.

   •  Colonel William Grey (Wake County) - Colonel Grey is the commander of the North Carolina Highway Patrol. He is a 22-year veteran of the agency. He is a graduate of Parkland High School in Winston-Salem.

    The board administers the retirement system laws for teachers, state employees and local government members of the state's retirement system. Members appointed by the governor serve four-year terms.
