BCN's January Traffic: We've Done Better | Eastern North Carolina Now

There are personal attributes of mine that I am continuous in my struggle to perfect: Knowing internet traffic and how to collect it, and abject honesty in all things Stan. To that collective end, I must admit BCN, of recent, has known better months in traffic. Seven months ago, I would have done back flips to know we suddenly had this kind of traffic. That was then, this is now.

Understandably, after over 4 years of building Beaufort County NOW into the top cyber site originating from Beaufort County, I well understand that building traffic is like a hike in the mountainous woods. One must trek up and then down along thin mountain trails, under a heavy canopy of upper story, to finally gain the high summit to view the unobstructed beauty of a lovely valley, with its picturesque mountain shoulders shielding it from the chaos of an all too real world. We, at BCN, ever endeavor to attain that ascending summit. Sometimes, we achieve it. This month, we did not.

Here below is a sheet of the metrics of our traffic for January, 2014, and the milestones that, while we may not have achieved, we completed last month:

Milestones for Beaufort County NOW: Our Growing Readership in January, 2014

     •   5th Most Unique IPs visiting BCN per day - 2,367    - 51.06% increase over the last 11 months.

     •   3rd Most Unique Page Views per day - 14,160    - 95.44% increase over the last 11 months.

     •   2nd Most Hits per day - 160,207    - 120.49% increase over the last 11 months.

     •   2nd Most Files accessed per day - 153,039    - 127.61% increase over the last 11 months.
