    Raleigh, NC     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

    North Carolina Awards Commission

   •  William Noble (Nash County) - Noble is a principal with The Trust Company of the South. He has been an active member of the First Tee of the Triangle Foundation, the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina and many other organizations. He will serve as chair.

   •  Larry Cobb (Orange County) - Cobb is special counsel for Nexsen Pruet PLLC. He is a former member of both the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives.

   •  Suresh Chandra (Guilford County) - Chandra was a research professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University before retiring in 2010. He is a member of the India Association of the Triad.

   •  Judi Grainger (Wake County) - Grainger served as president of the Alumni Association board of directors at N.C. State University. She also serves on the College of Education Advisory Board, the Board of Visitors and the board of directors of The State Club.

   •  Andrea Crumpton (Wake County) - Crumpton worked for Benton Satterfield MD, PA. She is involved with the Red Sword Guild, Caring House and the Junior League of Raleigh, among other organizations.

    The commission advises the secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources on forming and administering programs for the North Carolina Awards. The term length is at the pleasure of the governor.

    North Carolina State Licensing Board for General Contractors

    Rex Bost (Wake County) - Bost is the president of Bost Custom Homes. He maintains an unlimited general contractor's license. Bost is a reappointment to the board and will remain in the seat requiring a general contractor that primarily is in the construction of residences.

    Gray Pendleton (Wake County) - Pendleton is an account executive and financial advisor with Pendleton Financial. He earned a bachelor of arts in economics and commerce from Hampden-Sydney College. Pendleton will sit in the seat requiring a public member.

    The board safeguards public welfare, health, life and property by prescribing certain standards for licensees who engage in general contracting in the state. The term length is five years.
