    Mr. Edward Lee Stotesbury, age 79, a resident of 8289 Railroad Bed Road, Pantego, NC died Monday March 31, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

    A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.

    Mr. Ed was born in Washington County on April 14, 1934 son of the late Robert Lee Stotesbury and the late Beulah Mae Lowe Stotesbury. He attended Plymouth High School before serving his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Ed married the former Marion Joyce Blake on April 1, 1955 who survives. He worked at Weyerhaeuser as a painter for forty years where he was well known as Stokey. Mr. Ed was a member of Wenona Church of Christ.

    Surviving along with his wife Marion of the home are three daughters: Darlene Waters of Pinetown, Delores McGowan of Wenona and Brenda Grant and her husband Sonny of Wenona; two sons: Robert M Stotesbury and Kenneth L. Stotesbury and his wife Wanda all of Wenona; four brothers: Harvey Stotesbury of Wenona, Bennie Stotesbury of Ernul, Rondal Stotesbury of Wenona and Leroy Stotesbury of Wenona; a sister: Erma Oliver of Roper; five grandchildren: Suzanne Stotesbury, Jessica Waters, Joshua McGowan, Tina Abramson and her husband Chris and Courtney Coltrain and one great grandchild: Christian Abramson.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, General Fund, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
