DHHS to Kick off N.C. Medicaid Long-Term Care Strategic Work Group on 5/22 | Eastern NC Now

    Raleigh, N.C.     The DHHS Division of Medical Assistance will launch the first of two strategic planning work groups to shape N.C. Medicaid long-term services and supports (LTSS) to align with today's health care environment and the McCrory administration's Medicaid reform plan.

    Work Group 1: Long-term Care Strategic Planning (May 22 - Nov. 2014)

    The first work group will focus on long-term care planning services: Community alternative programs (CAP) for adults with disabilities and children, personal care services, private duty nursing, skilled nursing facility services, and PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly).

    The kick-off meeting for Work Group 1 will be:

    At this meeting, long-term care work group participants will receive information necessary to effectively meet LTSS strategic planning objectives.

    Work Group 2: Intermittent Services Strategic Planning (July - Nov. 2014)

    The second work group will begin in July and discuss intermittent services, such as home health care, home infusion therapy and hospice. A public notice will be distributed when the kick-off meeting is scheduled.

    If you cannot attend the kick-off meeting or participate in a work group, information as it becomes available will be on the Medicaid reform website at ncdhhs.gov/medicaidreform.

    LTSS strategic planning efforts are a DHHS commitment outlined in the N.C. Medicaid reform proposal, submitted to the General Assembly last March.
