    Brack slipped away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, to be with his Lord and Savior.

    There will be a graveside celebration of his life at 11:00 am, Friday, June 6, at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, NC, officiated by Rev. Robert Tilley. The family will receive friends Friday, June 6 from 10:00 to 10:45 am at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and travel to the cemetery in procession. They will also receive friends at the home of Gayle Clark and Bryan Ross, 924 Isabella Ave. Ext., Washington, NC.

    Brack was born August 30, 1917 in Onslow County near Belgrade, fourth son of the late Willie Kendal and Leona Gerock Oliver. He was a 1935 graduate of New Bern High School. In 1937 Brack began his employment with Carolina Telephone as a truck driver on a construction crew and retired at Washington, NC in 1981 as District Commercial and Marketing Manager. On July 16, 1965 he married Mavis Guthrie Oliver, who survives. He enjoyed wood working, net fishing on the Neuse River and repairing things that were inoperative. Brack was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

    In addition to his very loving wife of 49 years, Brack is survived by his children, Braxton S. (Rusty) Oliver, II of New Bern, Sherry Ann Cobb and husband Art of New Bern, Gayle Clark and companion Bryan Ross of Washington and Wayne Clark and wife Tina of Hampton, VA; his brother, J.D. Oliver and wife Jane of Suffolk, VA; his sisters, Helen Freeman of Sumter, SC and Greta Givens of Franklin, TN; three grandsons, six granddaughters, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

    The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care given to Braxton from the staff of Crystal Coast Hospice House and caregiver Elsie Nolan.
