The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center Announces Cancer Survivors Day Event | Eastern NC Now

The event, sponsored by the Shepard Cancer Foundation, is a local celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day, which is held each year in many communities around the world.

    (Washington, N.C.) - The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center is hosting its 5th annual Cancer Survivors Day event on Sunday, June 12 at First Church of Christ from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Shepard Cancer Foundation, is a local celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day, which is held each year in many communities around the world. This symbolic event demonstrates that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality. Survivors Day is a celebration of life and the Cancer Center would like to honor all cancer survivors on this special day. Caregivers are encouraged to attend as well.

    This year's event will feature the 2nd annual Survivors Got Talent variety show featuring local survivors and their caregivers. All survivors and caregivers are encouraged to participate. Need an idea of how to be a contestant? Use musical instruments, singing, skits, readings, comedy, magic, dance, or any other way that you can show how you CELEBRATE life. Light refreshments will be served and all survivors will receive a special gift.
