Bush Overtakes Obama in Favorability Ratings | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: This post, by the Civitas Staff, was originally published in of Civitas's online edition.

A new Civitas Flash Poll shows that likely NC voters view former President George W. Bush more favorably than President Obama.

The same poll also shows that Sen. Kay Hagan leads state House Speaker Thom Tillis in their race for the U.S. Senate, though the margin is razor-thin when the two major party candidates are compared head-to-head, without Libertarian Sean Haugh being considered.

The flash poll of 490 registered North Carolina voters who are determined to be likely to vote took place on Sept. 9 and 10, and had a margin of error of plus/minus 4.5 percent. (The question about the Hagan-Tillis debate was asked of 283 respondents who had seen the debate. That question had a margin of error of plus/minus 5.6 percent.) Of respondents not reachable on a cell phone, 25 percent were shown a questionnaire on their smartphone, tablet or other electronic device.

I supposed so on the Bush Board. Personally, I said, "HELL NO!" In your case I suspect it was "HELL YES!" It's just a difference of opinion, good buddy. Because you are a "thinking and compassionate Conservative" we can always "agree to disagree" on some things --- and be like twins on others!

Thanks Gene, but I was referring to all the Bush billboards that went up about two years into Obama's presidency, where they pictured Bush waving, with this big grin on his face with the line underneath it: Miss me Yet?

I sure do!!!! I am not in the local cable to view Council Meetings. The one I attended showed 6 "war faces" and one with a bearded smile just being patient to ask a "totally on target question."

All it takes is 1 or 2 intelligent people among a den of fools to make a difference.

I would agree that the margins are "razor thin." What it really tells me is the voters are badly divided and we need to get our NC act together among the citizens.
