Governor McCrory Appoints Wake County Business Court Judge | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Raleigh, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory has appointed Greg McGuire as a Special Superior Court Judge for a term beginning October 13, 2014. Chief Justice Mark Martin plans to designate him as a Special Superior Court Judge for Complex Business Cases at the beginning of McGuire's term. He will then preside in the Wake County Business Court as a Business Court Judge.

    "Greg McGuire is a talented, hardworking attorney, whose extensive business litigation experience will prove indispensable," said Governor McCrory. "We appreciate his willingness to serve our state and look forward to the valuable contributions he will make in the Business Court."

    McGuire is an attorney at the law firm Ogletree Deakins. He has more than 25 years of experience in a broad range of business and other civil litigation. He has worked with and advised clients across the country on a variety of legal issues. McGuire has tried numerous cases in front of juries and judges on the state and federal level and has been lead counsel in a number of nationwide and statewide class action lawsuits.

    McGuire received his B.S. from Cornell University in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He was recognized in "Best Lawyers in America" from 2010 to 2013.
