    Mrs. Dora Dean Woolard Dana, age 80, a resident of 108 King Arthur Trail, Washington, NC died Sunday December 21, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Tad Tankard.

    The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter: Melissa Dana located at 108 King Arthur Trail, Washington, NC.

    Mrs. Dana was born in Beaufort County on April 10, 1934 daughter of the late Merton Woolard and the late Thilla Mae Boyd Woolard. She was a 1952 graduate of Bath High School. On August 31, 1963 she married Howard Simon Dana who preceded her in death on December 15, 1984. Mrs. Dana worked as a secretary for the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She was an active member of Harvest Church of Washington.

    Survivors include a daughter: Melissa A. Dana of Washington; a son: Brian D. Dana and his wife Robin of Washington; a sister: Rowena "Dinkie" Tankard and her husband Thad Tankard, Jr. of Bath and three grandchildren: Nicholas Benjamin Dana, Reagan Dawn Dana and Bailey Grace Dana. She was predeceased by a sister: Grace "Darling" Welti and two brothers: Merton "Bill" Woolard and Dalton "Possum" Woolard.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Harvest Church Building Fund, 2020 West 15th Street, Washington, NC 27889.
