News Release:

WASHINGTON - Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) recently toured Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point military bases in North Carolina where he met with service members, their spouses, veterans and several wounded warriors. As a member of the Senate Armed Services and Veterans' Affairs Committees, the Senator's visit was an effort to learn firsthand how decisions in Washington, D.C., are affecting our nation's heroes and their families. After the tour, Senator Tillis released the following video:

"I had the opportunity to meet with military leaders and members who are just coming into the Marines, training out on the fields of Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point. They demonstrated to me that we have the best equipped, best trained, and best led military that has ever existed," said Senator Tillis.

"I also had the opportunity to spend time with the Wounded Warriors Battalion and some of the family members who are working very hard to ensure that our soldiers who are wounded find a welcoming home back here in North Carolina. We have to make sure our soldiers get the care they need so that they can recover, and that their families receive the support they need."
