    Raleigh, N.C.     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments to the North Carolina State University Board of Trustees.

  • Ann Goodnight (Wake): Goodnight is Director of Community Relations at SAS and a community volunteer. She is completing her eighth year of service on the UNC Board of Governors as a member of the Educational Planning, Policies, Programs, and Public Affairs Committee. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to community and education-based groups. She currently serves as a trustee with the YMCA of the Triangle, a board member of BEST NC, co-founder and board member for Cary Academy, and Advisory Member of the William & Ida Friday Institute. She previously served as a trustee of North Carolina State University. She is a board member of the UNC Center of International Understanding and the Foundation Board of the NC Museum of Art. Goodnight has also been involved with other groups, such as The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Chair of YMCA We Build People Campaign, trustee of N.C. Museum of Art, and former Chair of John Rex Endowment.
  • Robert "Chip" Andrews III (Wake): Andrews is the former Chairman and CEO for the FMI Corporation in Raleigh. He joined the company in 1967 after graduating from NC State with a degree in Economics. During his time with the company, he held leadership roles from Director of Consulting, President, and Chairman and CEO. He has served on various boards for NC State University, including Board of Visitors and Poole College of Management Board of Advisors.

    The board promotes the sound development of the institution within the functions prescribed for it, helps it to serve the state in a way that will complement the activities of the other institutions, and aids it to perform at a high level of excellence in every area of endeavor. The term length is four years and begins July 1.
