The two things that make a guy stand out in a crowd can also cause him the most trouble.

I am not sure what the young crowd covets now but back in my day it was a cool set of wheels. It did not have to be a new car but one that you could customize to make it fit your own personality. Due to the lack of money most of us had in our teens, we had to settle for the cosmetic items that could turn a clunker into a Chick Magnet.

Usually it would be a new set of hubcaps, something to hang on the inside mirror and finally an aftermarket floor shifter. To really splurge you needed a new paint job, preferable candy apple red.

We had an expression to describe most of our first cars, "If it won't run, Chrome it."

The second thing we really needed I mentioned in the third paragraph. A chick. Fast cars and faster women have always motivated me to great leaps of __________ (you fill in the blank).

Well a fast woman will eventually break your heart and a clunker will eventually break down. That only leaves you with one option.

Go find a car that will give you a whole bunch of SPEED.
