    Mrs. Edna Dail Owens, age 81, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at River Trace Nursing Home in Washington.

    The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington followed by funeral services at 4:00 PM Sunday, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Jimmy Moore. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Camden Ambrose, Jordan Ambrose, Brandon Owens, Kenneth Dail, Ray Burress and Brad Burress.

    Mrs. Owens was born in Greene County on September 12, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Luther Dail and Lena Rivers Dail. Mrs. Owens was a retired seamstress with Lou's Alterations, in Washington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington where she volunteered in the church library. Mrs. Owens also served as a volunteer at Beaufort County Hospital. In her spare time, she loved to sew, crochet and bake.

    Mrs. Owens was married to Floyd Leland Owens, who survives.

    Mrs. Owens is survived by her husband, Floyd Leland Owens; two sons, Keith Owens and wife, Angie of Washington, Dail Owens and friend, Becky Hatcher of LaGrange; daughter, Barbara Owens of Washington; seven grandchildren, Sara Catherine Owens, Alex Owens, Taylor Owens, Camden Ambrose, Jordan Ambrose all of Washington, Brandon Owens and Leland Owens both of Ahoskie; four great grandchildren, Hunter Davis, Madison Davis, Cameron Owens, and Summer Owens; and two sisters, Eva Bailey and Carol Edwards both of Lizzie, N.C.

    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth "Bud" Dail; and two sisters, Sara Harris and Doris Quinn.

    Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 113 N. Harvey Street, Washington, N.C. 27889.
