      Saturday, April 2, 2016       National Frog Month Celebration       2:00 pm

    Join a ranger for a Frog-tastic afternoon! We will study the life cycle of a frog and cover some frog identification tips with hands on activities. Please meet at the park’s outdoor classroom located behind the visitor center at 2:00 pm. Remember to dress for the weather.

      Sunday, April 10, 2016       Mallard Creek Hike       2:00 pm

    Join a ranger on an easy half-mile hike through pine-hardwood forests ending at a small overlook on Mallard Creek. Wear sturdy footwear, bring water and binoculars. Meet in the last parking lot.

      Sunday, April 16, 2016       Totally Turtles       2:00 pm

    Can you guess North Carolina’s state reptile? I’ll give you a hint, it’s a turtle! Meet at the visitor center to discover some of the unique turtles living throughout eastern North Carolina.

      Saturday, April 23, 2016       Swamp Life Discoveries       2:00 pm

    Have you ever wondered what’s lurking through our beautiful swamps in eastern North Carolina? Goose Creek State Park is the perfect place to explore and discover the amazing wildlife that calls these swamps their home. Join a ranger at the visitor center for a guided ¾ mile hike. There will be plenty of stops along the way in hopes of observing and handling some of the swamp’s most mysterious and hidden creatures. Please dress for the weather.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., N.C. House of Representatives Speaker Tim Moore, Representative Keith Kidwell, local elected officials and industry leaders will break ground
