Mr. Anonymous ... Part 2 | Eastern NC Now

Mr. Anonymous Now Has the Rule of Law on His Side

ENCNow
I just published in Beaufort County Now a very informative and entertaining (or was it?) posting about that guy Anonymous. Even if you did just read it, you might want to go back and read it all over again because I have been told by thousands of you that reading my past foolishness over and over is a delightful way to while away the hours.

OK, maybe I have not been told what I just said I was told by anyone. However, in the mode of darn near any member of our present Congress ... If I had been told what I just said I was told, then I would have been told what I was not told.

Back to why Mr. Anonymous Now Has The Rule Of Law On His Side...

In my local newspaper there are these words, "said a spokesman for Brazil's civil aviation authority, who spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with policy". (I added the bold lettering.)

There you have it. The Mr. Anonymous' of the future have the law on their side.

Don't you feel better? I know I do.

    Would I kid u?

Real Journalism is dead to most of America. I can still find it though.

Even BCN, which makes no pretense to be a journalistic entity, does better than most.

Just once, I would love to see a newspaper or TV news show say after giving us news that was "based on condition and promise of anonymity":

Since we never really keep our promises, the last bit of information was from John Jones who lives at XXX and is an employee of XXX.
