Obituary: Sarah Frances Fleming Whitley | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Sarah Frances Fleming Whitley, age 74, a resident of 5383 Old Blount’s Creek Road, Chocowinity, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at her home.

    A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Warren Memorial Cemetery in Blounts Creek, and will be officiated by Pastor Ray Webb.

    Mrs. Whitley was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 30, 1937, to the late Willie and Rose Doster Fleming. She married Philip Roscoe Whitley who preceded her in death on March 24, 1999. She was a graduate of Aurora High School and was an insurance agent with Fidelity Insurance Company of Newport News, Va., and Morris Insurance of Washington.

    Survivors include her son, Royce Whitley of Chocowinity, and her sister, Mary Fleming Bosher of Chocowinity. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Whitley, four brothers, and seven sisters.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of her sister, Mary Bosher, 5410 Old Blount’s Creek Road, Chocowinity.
