Zola W. Lilley: Born October 16, 1919, died December. 3, 2011 | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Zola Williams Lilley, age 92, a resident of Washington, died Friday Dec. 3, 2011, at River Trace Nursing Center of Washington.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Mike Caton.

    Mrs. Lilley was born in Craven County on Oct. 16, 1919, daughter of the late Theodore Glenn Williams and the late Robie Ovene Pike Williams. She married Ronald Gray Lilley on Dec. 16, 1939, who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1983. Mrs. Lilley was a homemaker and a member of Rosemary Church of Christ.

    Mrs. Lilley is survived by one son: Alfred Lilley and his wife Zelma of Washington; a daughter: Carolyn L. Woolard and her husband Mac of Washington; two sisters: Juanita Forest and Jessie Stilley, both of New Bern; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Lilley was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry Williams and Glenn Williams and one sister: Evelyn Russell.

    In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that memorials be made to Rosemary Church of Christ, Building Fund, 5226 Slatestone Rd., Washington, NC 27889.
