Sail into PirateFest with a Variety of Special Entertainment | Eastern North Carolina Now

    GREENVILLE, N.C.     Come enjoy special entertainment like you have never seen before at PirateFest on Saturday, April 8; mermaids, BMX, sword fighting, and Black powder demonstrations.

    Take an adventure under the sea with our live mermaids. The Real Mermaids will be featured in a huge salt-water tank and extravagant mermaid costumes at the corner of 4th and Evans Street. The sirens will perform at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Their performance is one you don't want to miss.

    Prefer ramps to tailfins? Look no further than the BMX Stunt Show offered by Greenville's own PROTOWN BMX. These BMX professionals perform at 11:00, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm. Protown BMX always brings top-notch tricks and positive messages.

    PirateFest is an art festival designed to showcase many talented local artists. Participating art vendors will feature a variety of homemade jewelry, pottery, paintings, woodworking, water color, live plants, artistic furniture pieces, garden décor and so much more.

    Buccaneers of all ages are welcome to join the PARRRGHTY at the Pirate Encampment from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Town Common. There will be an array of piractical tomfoolery from a Black Powder demonstration to a Shadow Players Pirate Show, a Sword Conservatory, little pirate school and more.

    Stimulate your mind with cultural performances from around the world from 11 am to 5 pm at the Rose Lot main stage. Motley Tones, Suavemente, the Indian Association, NC Academy of Dance Arts, Turkish Music Chorus, Blue Voyage Turkish Pop Music, Psylo Joe, and Skullduggery will perform lively sets for festivalgoers of all ages.

    PirateFest will also have carnival rides and food at Five Points Plaza 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Put on your dancing shoes for Rusted Root, a lively band that has sold more than 3 million records worldwide, at 5:30 pm at the Town Common.
