    Ellen Louise Williams Simmons, age 87, a resident of Bath, NC, died Thursday April 20, 2017 at her home.

    Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday April 23, 2017 at St. Clair's Church of Christ, Hwy. 99 South, Bath, and will be officiated by Craig Hagan. Burial will follow in Belhaven Community Cemetery.

    Bob Morlock, Jr., Charles William Brown, Jr., Jeremy Foreman and Dick Plattenberg will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Simmons was born in Pitt County on December 3, 1929 to the late Alonza Dawson and Rosa Cornelius Williams. She retired from the garment industry after many years. She was a member of St. Clair's Church of Christ. Mrs. Simmons was married to Lloyd Dean Simmons who preceded her in death on October 28, 2016.

    Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Deborah W. Morlock and her family, nieces and nephews and many friends.

    In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Jones.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour on Sunday April 23, 2017 at St. Clair's Church of Christ.
