    On Monday, January 8, 2018, the President signed into law:

  • H.R. 560, which continues access to certain vehicles serving residents of municipalities adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area;
  • H.R. 1242, the "400 Years of African-American History Commission Act," which establishes the 400 Years of African-American History Commission to plan activities to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of African-Americans in the United States;
  • H.R. 1306, the "Western Oregon Tribal Fairness Act," which mandates the conveyance of certain Federal land in the State of Oregon to be held in trust as part of the reservation of specified tribes;
  • H.R. 1927, the "African American Civil Rights Network Act of 2017," which Establishes the African American Civil Rights Network within the National Park Service;
  • S. 1393, the " Jobs for Our Heroes Act," which expands the type of medical professionals employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs who could certify that veterans meet the physical standards required to operate commercial motor vehicles; and exempts current members of the armed services or reserves from certain testing requirements to obtain commercial driver's licenses;
  • S. 1532, the "No Human Trafficking on Our Roads Act," which requires the Department of Transportation to disqualify an individual who uses a commercial motor vehicle in committing a felony involving human trafficking from operating a commercial motor vehicle for life; and
  • S. 1766, the "Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Reporting Act of 2017," which requires the Justice Department to inform certain entities of existing Federal resources to address the need for pediatric sexual assault nurse examiners in responding to child abuse; and extends certain DNA grant authorities.
