I apologize for this post. This is what happens when your overactive mind wakes you up in the middle of the night and you can't go back to sleep. I admit I stole the flow chart and the lyrics but I did create the beetle crawling gif. This is dedicated to my Vietnam buddy Gene Cahill who absolutely loved the Beatles. I imagine he is still singing the knock off of another Beatle song. "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)"
Some people have a problem with remembering lyrics to simple songs. Here is a simple example of how to remember the words to Hey Jude using a process flow chart which is usually provided to simplify complex processes. The song was written by Paul McCartney of the Beatles in 1966-67. I hate to criticize one of the most popular music icons but it seems to me that old Paul ran out of words toward the end of the song.
Below is the long version for those who have difficulties with Flow Charts
Hey Jude
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better
And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah yeah
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh
HERE IS A BIT OF DEEP HISTORY ABOUT THE SONG. THE ENDING WAS MOST LIKELY A SATIRE ABOUT THE FADE OUT USED BY POP MUSIC ENGINEERS DURING THE 1960S WHEN THEY DID NOT HAVE A CLEAR ENDING TO A SONG

Hey Jude
Out there in the cold Getting lonely, getting old. Can you feel me? Hey Jude Standing in the aisles With itchy feet and fading smiles. Can you feel me? Hey Jude Don't help them to bury the light. Don't give in without a fight. Hey Jude Out there on your own Sitting naked by the phone. Would you touch me? Hey Jude With your ear against the wall Waiting for someone to call out. Would you touch me? Hey Jude Would you help me to carry the stone? Open your heart, I'm coming home But it was only fantasy. The wall was too high as you can see. No matter how he tried he could not break free. And the worms ate into his brain. Hey Jude Out there on the road, Always doing what you're told. Can you help me? Hey Jude Out there beyond the wall, Breaking bottles in the hall. Can you help me? Hey Jude Don't tell me there's no hope at all. Together we stand, Divided we fall. |
Yeah, I dig the bug. It reminds me of much.
I need all the help I can get on the guitar. One day we should start a band. I just checked out the chords to "Hey Jude"; great chords that I play often - all of them. If I get some time, I will get that song down. I'll use your diagram to remember the words. |
Not really, I was not an early convert to the Beatles music as I was stuck in the 1950s but I eventually grew to enjoy their music before John started taking himself too seriously and met that gal YO YO.
Thanks for not mentioning the bug in my HTML coding, I don't know how he got in the post. Here is a simple lesson on the chords from my go to man on YouTube for many of the pop tunes. I can't say much for his voice but his teaching technique with the guitar is simple and easy to follow. beaufortcountynow.com |
Did you write this post for me specifically.
I will use this. At this point as a novice musician, I can remember the melody better than I can remember the words. Now I want to learn Hey Jude. I have not learned many Beatles songs for a variety of reasons. I am working on a few now: "I Will", "Girl", "While my Guitar Gently Weeps". It usually is determined by their ease of learning, like if I already know most of the chords already. |

Hey Jude is one of those songs. It is not too difficult a song to play, but I could never get all of the "Nah"s right.
