Yes We Can! Yes We Can! | Eastern North Carolina Now

This impassioned cry rose up from the U.S. House of Representatives, once the Democrat majority slapped each other on the back and passed the U.S. Senate’s version of ObamaCare that was passed in the Senate before Senator Scott Brown was elected in Massachusetts. This is the same bill that used taxpayer dollars to bribe (let’s be honest) Senator Ben Nelson (see the Cornhusker Kickback) and Senator Mary Landrieu (see the Louisiana Purchase). The Senate, where the Democrats have a distinct majority, will need to rework the bill through reconciliation, but the smart money is that it will pass the Senate, and sent back to the House where the smart money says it will probably pass again.

Is this “Change You Can Believe In?” “You betcha.” “Yes we can” change this capitalist nation into a socialist one. “Yes we can” throw the U.S. Constitution under the bus. And quite frankly, “yes we can” use these many Obama war whoops as the simple talking points for very simple constituency that will now forever change this nation from the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave to simply ObamaLand.

Political ally Reverend Al Sharpton said it best when he announced shortly after the vote, “The American people overwhelming voted for Socialism when they elected Barrack Obama President, because he told them he would push for health care reform.” And for the most part, the Reverend is right, he did tell the American people that this would be “change they can believe in,” but he did not mentioned: the partisan freeze out of Republican legislators, the backroom negotiations, that fostered the many taxpayer funded bribes that bought this bill for a newly minted Socialist America.

And while it frustrates this optimistic Patriot as to how this can happen, I have to question the electorate that elected these Socialist legislators and this Socialist President. Was our electorate lied to in all these separate elections, do the really want a Socialist America, or do they just that ambivalent, which is a nice way to say: Are they (the electorate) just that stupid?

This will all be sorted out over the next few years, or maybe a lifetime. As for me, I plan to keep my principles intact, my business and dreams small, and a weary eye for a better day, for a better and deserving people.

Right now, this is ObamaLand, and that means that you people, who are productive and work hard to remain that way, need to work harder to support those people, who will vote Socialists legislators and their President, masked as Democrats, into office. That’s just the way it is. Now what are you going to do: Whoop “yes we can” have “change you can believe in,” or are you going to take back America?” Its your choice. It was your America. Today, it is the United States of ObamaLand.
