    Mrs. Lavaughn Ange West, age 78, a resident of Washington, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 15, 2018.

    A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday April 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Phil Ange and Pastor Bruce Kimbrel. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    Mrs. West was born in Martin County on February 9, 1940 to the late Henry David Ange and Mamie Mae Ange. On December 6, 1958 she married Dale Farris West who preceded her in death on May 24, 2011. She was a former member of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church and a current member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. West was a wonderful Christian woman and was saved by grace. She loved flowers, music, playing the piano, art and singing. Mrs. West was a strong woman and fought very hard in her battle with health issues which began in 2004 until present. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also enjoyed cookouts, eating fish and family get togethers.

    Survivors include her five children, Katrina West Sloan and husband Richard, Stanley West, Maris West and wife Shelley, all of Washington, Karen West Seymour and husband David of Pinetown, Luke West also of Washington, nine grandchildren, Crystal Riannon Williams, Davie Seymour, Josh Seymour, Ryan Stalls, Daniel Seymour, Rachel West, Gabriel West, Sam West, Grace West, a great grandchild, Braxen Roland, two sisters, Lavetta Ange Jordan and husband Murriel, Janice Ange Corbett and husband Bob, and many nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by a sister, Aleta Faye Ange.

    The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday April 17, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at her home.
